Are you talking about in movies where light machine gunners wear a belt of ammo across their torso? Yeah, that's bad for the ammo and isn't practical. We only do that for photo opportunities as a joke.
Edit: Don't forget the 7.62 ammo for the M-240, Deka. That's the one that looks the coolest when you're wearing it. The 5.56 looks too small and silly and the .50 is just too heavy to wear. |

I've only ever seen a chain of bullets in movies, though the rounds for 50 cals and the saw can come in a chain. chances are you would be reprimanded but putting it around your body though. |

That is a disintegrating link belt of ammunition usually 7.62MM for the old M-60 or the M-240. The M-249 also is belt fed but it comes from a plastic box and is a pain to get back into the box. Also it is 5.56 so it looks to small to make a good "hollywood" photo! |

you mean a bandolier? they only ever wear them like that in the movies if they are out of the ammo box and moving they might drape them over a shoulder but they never wrap them like that. |

a bandolier is a satchel that contains a pre-set number of ammunition
what you are talking about is a term that can be used for moves,talk,equipment,or a whole person.....we call them hollywood.not too practical, but can always seem to get in all sorts of pics and seem to look important |
