What is the real reason for the war on iraq?
Find answers to your legal question.

What is the real reason for the war on iraq?

Oil? Weapons of Mass Destruction? Get rid of all terrorist forces?

there's so many reason's everybody has came up with, I don't think the president himself knows the real reason for the war anymore..

A lot of people have told me that the country is lying about everything, not to join the military, that their fighting for a useless cause..

I wanna be a soldier..I wanna fight for my country, I just have no idea what I'm going to be fighting for. I've talked to about 10 recruiter's and they have all given me different answer's on why this war is going on..

What is everyone else's opinion?

I always evaluate from 'interest' perspective - I mean money. Clearly, there was not military threat from either Afganistan (I am opening a can of warms! LOL Volchers come over! Question for you ! If it were a big threat why we put there less troops then there are cops in NYC? And ... where is Osama ? ) or Iraq.

Hence, the prime answer is oil ( and gas)! But, it had another motive - "political capital" to do what they want! After all we are at war !!! and you can not criticize anything!!!

Military complex earned some bucks in a side too! After all our gov. is sponsored/run by energy and military industries!

The war in Iraq is being fought for all these reasons, I believe. All of which seem to be legitimate if looked at more closely. No, all the terrorists will not be taken down, our oil prices will not drop significantly, we know some of the locations of the weapons of mass destruction and are working our way through this. The left wing (media) is certainly not the place to look for answers. My son is a Marine on 2nd tour there and is one of the older recruits. He explored a few years of college and then decided. Most of the Devil Dogs are proud of their progress although we don't hear it. Iraq is a powerful country when you look at their surrounding neighbors, and we can make a difference if the U.S. gov. would just use their heads. Believe me, I want my son home, but he is proud of his job and certainly believes in what he's doing. If you want to go military, you should go where your heart leads. Those recruiters will tell you anything (as they have with my two sons). Just do your research and and remember when you sign that commitment line there's no turning back, you belong to the U.S. Gov. Don't jump into it or anything else in life too quickly.

The war started in part because President Bush wanted the UN to be relevient. They chose not to be. For the US to stay relevient we had to go in. Being a super power & the Iraqis not having the WMD's everyone thought they had, the press spon it into the US is being a BULLY.

Once we went in the question becomes what can we do now to insure the locals have a better life than under Saddam when we leave. If we don't achive that goal being an allie of the US isn't of any value in the future.

Without the 5th column of the terrorist (the 1st world press & the left) challenging the Iraqi people to have a vested self interest in their country, the outside instigators will continue to inflame past wounds. These outsiders obviously don't have enough faith in their own cause to allow the locals to have peace in their country.

The press does also have a vested interest in violence it is called ratings. They are like hawkers at a fight. I could truly be asked if in some ways aren't they salesmen for the arms industry? They may even have an incestuous relationship.

oil and military contracts.

The oil companies wanted access to Iraq's oil and free convoy and field protection. We did all of it.

The military industrial complex needed to sell 500 billion in weaponry.

Israel wanted America to do its dirty work!

PS: If you want to fight for your country then pick up the axe and hack away at the attack on the constitution and our freedoms!

I think that at first, the Bush Administration's intentions were good. The reasons were to give a harsh blow to terrorism, and to destroy Saddam Hussein's regime, who was an evil, bloodthirsty, heartless tyrant.

However, that was accomplished a long time ago, so what are our soldiers still doing there? The Iraqui people don't even want us there. As wonderful as democracy and freedom are, you can't ram them down people's throats if they don't want it.

There is no purpose for our still being there. If you want to fight for your country, help the youth in your church and community. Perhaps in doing so you can help shape the minds of future politicians who will be making similar decisions in the future.

God bless.

Probably the most realistic & lasting explaination is "daddy didn't finish the job." American's have been harping on that since we pulled out in '91.

Most peole just don't understand why we didn't go to Baghdad. We are experiencing that reason now.

Aside from that its been WMDs, terrorism, oil, & even "I can do it daddy & I'll prove it to you."

The President hasn't listed oil as one of the reasons to have gone to war. That's a liberal conspiracy. Only liberals claim that our great country is lying about everything. Only liberals who want peace at all cost say that fighting this war is useless.

If you listen to others, you may end up being discouraged by all the different answers. Try looking at it this way, this country was built by the blood of those before us, those serving now, and tomorrows' heroes, like you. Dont do it because of what someone else tells you, do it because it is a PRIVELEDGE to be an American, and being one holds certain responsibilities, one of which is to make sure no enemy, foreign or domestic, attacks our sacred land. Someone has to stand for our way of life, there are those who would try to discourage you, my advice to you is, there is no other country on earth like this one, and if you decide to join, just do your best, and you will be honored.

Remember 9/11? It still amazes me how so many Americans can forget it!!!!! If it was for the oil, im sure we wouldnt be paying over three dollars a gallon!!! And yes there was weapons of mass destruction over there, Bill Clinton, even said so when he was in office, tell me those graves full of hundreds of people where not killed off by chemicals over there,,, Wake Up America!!!! If we dont stand up and fight, then we will be owned by Iraqians and be praying to the koran, and bowing to the islamic rulers, with no freedoms at all.

In a nutshell, the reason is that Captain AWOL got a brilliant idea. Trying to figure out why goofy people do goofy things will get you nowhere.

Well it's great that you want to serve your country (USA) the only problem is if you fight in Iraq you would be serving Israel, which is fine, as long as you want to fight/die for Israel's freedom & security and not the USAs.
