There're also other reasons like, regional domination, Iran, Syria and to give more support to Israel. But mainly OIL!

There is no reason for this or any war'other than it is the will of mankind to destroy each other while the y destroy what God created' untill we learn to get along with ourselves 'we can't find peace with others' 'yes some say we are at war to help those victimized by terror' so perhaps we fight to protect ourseves'

I love the way the thumbs down come out whenever someone suggests wars are fought for any other reasons than those stated by politicians. Of course, these are the same morons who think history starts with the birth of christ half the time- they probably think the peloponesian war was some wacky fight between trained parrots. Wrap yourself in the stars and stripes and sing a little louder- drown out that pesky, intrusive truth- it's not like its your life being wasted, after all...

u no wut cracks me up...when people have to seriously ask this question...are they dumb or what.....freekin we are in this war because of september 11, 2001....its not that dang hard to understand...we were attacked on american soil and a lot of our citizens were killed...that deserves war....anyone who thinks otherwise needs to stop freekin takin there freedom for granted...freedom isnt free...you have to fight for it..someone is going to try taking it from you if you try living in peace..its human nature...we are over there trying to organize their governments so they can bring order to their citizens and so gangs lik al qaida and other peaces of crap like that cant form and so people like osama bin laden cant be bred....were not there for oil u DA's...if that was the case gas wouldnt be so expensive...and religion also does have a little to do with it....but just like the civil war..many believe it wasnt because of slavery....but without slavery i guarantee u it woulda never took place....jsut like the war we are in now...people may not think it was because of 9/11...but without them DA terrorist cowards killing all those innocent people then we wouldnt be at war now....and i think its sick for people who dont think we should be at war....you know good n well the majority of those killed would be mad as crap if we ddnt do anything bout it...i know i would....and we might not be taking the right approach....but we definately need to be doing something...its people who take freedom for granted that are going to end up ruining our country....most countrys have fallen in the past because they got too powerful...ours is going to fall because we hve too many people trying to be peaceful while the rest of the world around us is taking advantage of us for being a sissy country...thats all i got to say and i would love to talk more about if anyone else wants to...i could go all day long

The war in Iraq was a piece of the Bush agenda from day 1.
Bush promised congress that the oil in Iraq would pay for his war. It hasn't yet so he can't leave, that's about it.

It could be about the stated reason of WMDs, Saddam wouldn't let Americans inspect to verify if he did or did not have WMDs, but I believe that's just political reasoning and isn't the main objective

Originally It wasn't about the Iraqi people. With the exception of certain minorities they were better off without the war. But now Coalition presence is the only thing stopping a full out genocide

Overall, I believe this war is about destabilizing Middle-eastern volatile interests which could potentially threaten US assets at a later date and time.

Hmm good question. Mostly because weve already pretty much won, why put our troops in anymore danger? Personally i think that if we are giving money to help build what we already destroyed we should just leave and let them take care of it by themselves. I think that our troops are doing what they feel is needed and God Bless them all! -ry

we're in this war because the iraqi citizens are being treated like ****. they're being over run by a group of people who think they are better than everyone else. they're strapping bombs on their kids. they're setting up bombs not for american soldiers but for their own citizens. we're fighting this war because they need our help. it doesn't have anything to do with oil or 9/11 for that matter. and for people who don't support the war, go ahead and take my hubby's place in iraq. how would you like to live a year and a half without seeing your family while all you hear is constant morter rounds and have to look at children who are so badly beaten that you can barely look at pictures of your own children. for anyone who won't stand behind the troops, go ahead and stand in front of them. and just remember, they're the reason you have the freedoms that you do, because someone had the balls to stand up for what was right.

Oil and politics. No other war is fought for any other reason then that. The excuses of freeing millions of people, giving them democracy, dethroning a dictator are all valid, but not the main reason for our current wars. They are the ones above.
