What is with the people on here and other boards?

What is with the people on here and other boards praising Obama as if he saved the day sat down in the oval office and formulated the entire plan and the SEALs and Military were just listening to him? I have seen multiple posts of people who believe we only follow orders in the military and never decide our own actions. I cannot believe they are taking away from the bravery of the Navy and captain by claiming Obama saved the day.

But why am I surprised, these were the same fools earlier yelling that the military was not taking action, now they are screaming Obama saved the day, and claiming we should be grateful to have such an intelligent commander and chief. You can’t win with the ignorant masses.

Obama had nothing to do with it other than to say "go ahead and do what you have to do..." or words to that effect. The planning and execution of the rescue was left to military experts.

Obama deserves no praise.

We who are in the know, understand that Obama probably held the rescue up more than he helped it along. It was the US Military who pulled it off. And only the US Military.

I know the military can make its decide its own actions, yet it can be hampered by the White House (Mogadishu remember?). Can't we all just be happy such a brave man has been rescued and be proud of everyone involved?

People are stupid. Personally (By the sound of it.) I think that they are just trying to raise Obama's reputation, you know. He is a new president and he's black, Maybe by doing that, they think that he will seem more like a hero and the people won't discrimate against him as much because they look at him as a hero.

If it went wrong he would take the blame.
So why shouldn't the people also give him the credit (shared by others more involved) when things go right.

And, Terry D, what makes you think Obama would accept the blame for a botched rescue? I guess you drank the Koolaid.

Mark F, you make a good point that we would have given Bush or McCain credit for the decision, but that's only because it actually would have been them making the decision because they're qualified to do so. Obama, however, is completely clueless regarding areas of national security, defense, the economy...let's face it; he's just clueless. He allowed the proper and qualified authorities to make the call, and now he's trying to bask in the glory as usual.

You have to understand that the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the individual units don't grant the go ahead to strike with Special Ops force. The use of SEALs in a stealth mission comes from the very top. Should Obama had said no to using our Navy boys, it would have been a while longer on the wait for another plan. There isn't just a unit that says, "lets roll" like the movies picture it to be. The Chain of Command is used, all the way to the President for actions like this.

PS. Maybe you shouldn't be bashing our boss. You want to claim you are a "Marine" and want the respect of being one, yet you open your mouth about the President? Way to go smart guy.

Bush is credited from "protecting us" from (more) terrorists attacks and he's blamed for (and even praised for) Iraq. That's why Obama is praised for the pirate incident.
