We have not killed 1 million Iraqi civilians. Most Iraqi deaths have been caused by other Iraqis and the number is no where close to 1 million

But as for the pirates, they are not innocent and they should be dead. The fact we are not doing anything just makes Obama look even weaker than I expected him to be

It is totally inaccurate (a lie) to say that the US killed 1 million innocent Iraqi civilians.

But only a fool would think a war can be conducted with no civilian casualties. Especially when the cowardly terrorists hide among the civilian population.

Well, I say they should have sent a small handful of seals out on the Destroyer and performed a simple underwater night operation to neutralize the attackers and save the captain in one instance. It can be done. It's not so far fetched. If a few of the pirates are killed in the initial attack, so be it.
Then they can handcuff their a$ses to the forward windbreak and sail back to Virginia for interrogations!

Bonsai, why would you make such an ignorant statement? The overwhelming majority of iraqi civilians killed were killed by other iraqis or by foreign members of Al Queda. As someone above pointed out terrorists very deliberately hide amongst non-combatants for two reasons: (1) they know that the U.S. makes a good-faith effort to avoid civilian casualties, sometimes to the point of endangering U.S. troops and (2) if a civilian is killed because we targeted a terrorist it becomes a propaganda victory for them.

Whether the war was justified or not no one can deny that we liberated Iraq from a brutal dictatorship and have given them the opportunity to choose their own government. Saddam Hussein was responsible for the murders of 200,000 of his own citizens.

I didn't serve in the navy but I know that a destroyer does not normally have a SEAL-team on board.

I have to ask: in your entire life have you done even *one* unselfish thing for your country besides pay your taxes? "Freedom isn't free."

Their definition of who was killed and by whom:

I be college edumacated and watched Sesame Street as a kid, but I'm pretty sure anything under 100,000 is no where near 1,000,000. And I know that they weren't all killed as a result of combat operations by US forces.

I don't support the decision to send US troops to Iraq, but as a former military service member, I know that US forces go out of their way to prevent civilian causualties.

As far as the situation with the pirates, I think they US should use force to put an end to the situation there.

I'm sure a SEAL team is on the way. You're right about the needless slaughter of Iraqi civilians though and we, as a nation, should apologize.

There were never any WMD and the Iraqi people never asked to be "liberated".
