Has to be the War of 1812 against the British.

The Battle of New Orleans being the highlight.

I mean a few regular US soldiers under General Andy Jackson, pirates, slaves, black freemen, frontiersmen'
with their Kentucky Long Rifles, etc. City folks, gamblers,
and such, even a few ladies. Also a few of those folks the British tossed out of Quebec: "Cajuns".

It did occur "technically" after the Treaty but they did not know such.

Amphibious warfare was born it this battle; it failed but it did
create some radical new thinking about such operations.

War of 1812. A few battles in particular...

However, we went one better and in 1814 handily defeated an American force upwards of eight thousand with less than nine hundren men. And before that, 400 Canadiens held off 4,000 invading Americans, and at Frenchtown, outnumbered 2-1 and killed like 500 Americans, and capture of Michigan state without firing a shot, 6000 invading Americans defeated at Queenston.....

Yeah, the yankees have upwards of three "New orleans" victories; we have like, over ten?

And the climax of the war was definitely the razing of washington.

Anglo/American war of 1812.That's the one where the Yanks conveniently forget that Britains best commander and troops ie Wellingtons Army was otherwise engaged.If not so the Yanks would have got their asses kicked.

Dont have a favourite war, but know lots about world war two.

As a Wargamer I have refought many wars. I mainly concentrate now on the Greeks and Romans (up to and including early empire).

I admire Alexander for taking the disparate and disjointed forces in Greece and moulding them into an efficient war machine that conquered Persia and then India, based around the superb army created by his Father, Phillip.

But overall my favourite war is any I fight with metal figures, because nobody actually gets killed!

the war against the French (the napolionic period) when the British won at Waterloo we became the greatest matiliary power. Without that britain wouldn't be where it is today.

Mine is the 'Pillow fight war' prior to bed time. All fun and frolics in this house!!!!!!!!!!!
