I am thinking about being a navy nurse in the future. If I take take French in college could that affect where I am stationed?

Taking French will not ensure you will ever be stationed in a place where you will use it. Although would sure be perk if he need ever arose. As far as kinds of places, really depends on what Command you are attached, and what is "home" base. Navy is world wide, so hard to give you an exact answer to your question. You could travel anywhere approved on leave, but as far as deployments, East Coast travels to the Med via the Atlantic, and West Coast the Pacific, not to mention overseas bases, and "joint" ventures with other services! |

If you are bilingual it could. Depends on what they need. You could potentially go anywhere there is a base, because as a nurse they can (and often do) put you on whatever base they need you, not just Navy bases. My dad is a retired Navy Mineman and we were stationed in Guam, Okinawa (Japan), the Philippines, and he went to Scotland and Canada and other places for training during his time in. |
