No Military Experience.
His qualifications meet what is required by Article II in the Constitution.
35 years of age, Born US Citizen, has lived in the US the previous 14 years.
He was elected by the people according the the 12th amendment, and that is what is required to be the POTUS. |

Many great leaders have never been involved directly into military service. He may be Commander-in-Chief, but he serves the more poltiical aspect of it (which is what he needs to do of course).
Strategically, he has a cabinet (he has kept on Secreatary of Defense Robert Gates on his Cabinet) and military leaders (SECAF, SECA, Generals, etc) at his disposal.
In short, he really doesn't need a whole lot of military expertise that comes with being in the military, unless he is actively involved in the strategies of the wars. Otherwise, he just needs to handle the politician side of it, which he is experienced in.
America has never been nor hopefully never will be a militaristic state. So why do our elected officials need military experience? |
