What prevents Egypt with the worlds largest standing army from staging a massive ground/air attack on Israel?

Egypt doesn't have the world's largest standing army. Not even close.

And there's two reasons they won't attack Israel. 1) The Egyptian government dislikes the Palestinian scum nearly as much as Israel does. 2) Egypt would lose.

Egypt is one of the few Muslim country's that has recognized Israels right to exist. For one. Bible prophesy two.They like the suez canal, Israel floated a boat down it in the 7 day war. They would rather the Palestinians be a Israeli problem than there problem.

Well besides Israel would see Egypt moving its army close to the Border, would make a surprise attack, kind of hard to do.

The Sinai between Egypt and Israel , is a UN buffer zone that neither side are allowed to base soldiers.

There are UN observer forces stationed in the Sinai to prevent either side from moving soldiers in.

Plus the 3 billion a year that the US pays egypt to maintain the peace between them.

Along with the fact that Egypt has attacked Israel 4 times in the past and gotten their butt licked all 4 times.

first egypt has never beaten isralie in a conventual war. they trie 3 times and lost and they had jordan syria on their side. the last time they tried to defeat isralie. the armys stopped short of the capitol. afraid of israle nuclear weapons. israle has over 60 nukes. and systems to deploy them. ie f16,f4,a4 aircraft. missles from france and america. and naval elements. egypt does not want to be nuked for plastine

First, all your 'facts' are wrong. They do have sophisticated weapons and they are not the largest standing army...even in the region. Second, the Egyptians have tried a surprise attack on the Israel and it did not work so well. When the Israelis returned the favor, Egypt lost most of her Air and Naval forces. Add to this that the Israeli's have nukes and Egypt don't...seems like suicide.

Having a large standing army and being militarily proficient are 2 very different things. Or did you not learn anything from the wars in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973?

Egypt has tried to attack Israel by surprise and have been beaten each time. The last time they tried an attack, it lasted 6 days before they ran back to Egypt and lost over 100 tanks and thousands of POW's. Egypt has not got the worlds largest standing army. China alone cam muster over 2,000,000 tropps, and Russia is a close second. If China was to mass every man that has had Military Training, then you are looking at an Army of 5,000,000 Plus 2,000,000 in reserve. They also have 2,000 of the latest Russian fighter planes and Bombers. then include one of the biggest navy's in the World.

You pointed out the KEY to your question. Eqypt lacks lacks a well equipped Army. Numbers do not always matter in war. Think of the Movie "300". Even if you take huge losses this does not guarantee victory, only slaughter.

Israel is a global leader in weapons technology. Their Army and Special Forces are very well equipped, well trained, and always at the ready. With the amount of surveillance technology a "surprise attack" is HIGHLY unlikely if not impossible, especially if we are talking large numbers of troops.

A. Eqypt dose NOT have the largest army in the world. Not even close. Egypt was 17 (just behind Iran and Canada) in 2009.

I would have to question that your statement that Egypt has the largest standing army in the world. According to Wikipedia there are many countries with larger armies.

What prevents them from attacking Israel? They've tried twice before and got their butts kicked both times.
