What should I send my boyfriend in Iraq?

My boyfriend is turning 22 and he'll be in Iraq. I want to send him something to brighten up his day and let him know I love him and am always thinking of him. Let me know of any ideas!

hAVING JUST spent a tour there in 2003-2004 and just got back from Afghanistan,Send him a DVD of yourself wishing him a "Happy birthday" along with a very large Care package
and a very, very large card. Don'y be too syrupy but a few choice words to cheer him up. Leave out the patriotism.

Send him a scrap book with the things that you both treasure, pictures...even a CD with your favorite music.

Keep his spirit alive by telling him of the fun things you are doing. You could also send him a love poem, or put a petal of your favorite rose (dried) in this scrapbook or a hanky with your favorite perfume sprayed on it. Remind him that he is always in your thoughts and prayers.

But most importantly remind him of your unconditioanl love!

You have gotten some very good answers here. There is no way to top any of them. I love the idea of wearing the t-shirt the best. shower then wear it with his favorite perfume and wear it till your sent is embedded in it. send his favorite snacks along with some sand toys. You got great answers. God bless your young man and I pray he will come home safe to you and his entire family. You can send him a little note to let him know we the people here in this country appreciate him and his comrades with all our hearts.

everything that was already mentioned, plus you've got to think of the things he just can't get over there that he'd miss. Homemade cookies for example - sounds cheesy and overdone, but I'll bet they're damn good if it's been ages since you've had any. Seal them in ziplock bags so they stay fresh.

This will sound wierd, but when my twin brother was in Iraq, I sent him sand toys. He loved them and used them, made a sand castle, no kidding. Other stuff I sent that he used included DVDs, video games, a home video of everyone talking to him, books, coloring book & crayons, plastic popsicle mold and the Kool-aid that comes in the container with the sugar already mixed in (just add water), he loved the Kool-Aid and popsicle molds because its hot out there and he would make popsicles, I also sent him cookies, candy, chips, salsa, granola bars, pop tarts, his favorite face wash and shampoo, an etch-a-sketch...lots of stuff

While I served over sea's, letter's from home describing the slightest details or changes in my family's day to day life were the best thing in the world. You always want to know what is going on back home. Send alot of pics too. In a letter or while you talk to him on the phone ask if there are any reading materials that he would like to have. I have heard that there is a shortage of books and magizines for our troops right now and reading is a great way for them to pass the down time. Keep in touch with him and try to send a care package once and awhile of diferent things you know he likes.......from cigs to candy. I hope this at least gives you some ideas. Have fun with it.

I turned 21 while in Iraq. I got alot of letters and cards and such all stuff that I ended up sending home anyway. Try sending a disposible camera and pics of you and other family and friends. Also a phone card is always nice. Trust me no matter what you send him he will love it because it is from you. I am still sending new pics all the time to my husband (who is on the 3rd tour) and he sends the old ones home. Also kudos to you for sticking by his side throughout this whole war. I am sure you are one awesome girl! Hang in there he'll be home soon!!

A care package with a picture of you holding a sign saying I love you or I miss you! Remember it has to fit in his runsack & gives him extra weight to carry when they move.

The suggestions from the others are great, pictures and music and snacks and whatnot, but don't send alcohol. Iraq is apparently a "Dry" country. Any alcohol sent over there will surely get dumped upon inspection, and being that whiskey gets more and more expensive by the day, it'll be a waste.

In Feb my hubby turned 22, and he's in Iraq right now. I really wanted to see him something special for his birthday. So I bought him he's favorite TV series on DVD, 3 DS video games, and made him a video of his family. I got his grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters etc all to get a message to him. He said it was the best, he watches it all the time. We're going to go out somewhere really nice on his 2 week leave. So I put in a "birthday itinerary" of what we're going to do for his birthday back in the states. He's so excited.

send him some kind of special "care" package. His favorite snacks, some pictures, and anything else to help him pass the time and give him some of the comforts of home. My husband asked for the simplest things while he was there, it's amazing what we take for granted.

i always liked getting any mail, my wife never sent me anything. so i always took naked pics of her before i left. but to get them in the mail would have been great. i got a pocket p-ssy from my sister in law one Christmas in Kososvo. I never used it. Don't send one of those. Really just about anything is nice when your over there. A new pair of socks would have made my day. Send anything. That way he knows you're thinking about him. (Nude pics)

Everything that has already been mentioned above, and why not send him a list along with your package that has 22 things that you love about him on it. God be with both of you and I pray that he comes home to you soon.

House, M.D.
Something that makes him think of you. Something special.

All of the above suggestions are great. I do remember when my daughter's father was over there, they gave us a list of things that were not allowed to be shipped over there, but that was back in 02-03 when the war first started. just make sure whatever your sending is acceptable...you can ask his units family support group for this info, or just ask him if there are any restrictions.

Aside from things like sugar free cool aid and flea collars (both of which make life more enjoyable over there) you could try this - and it won't get stopped by the customs agent.

Go get an under shirt, plain cotton of any color you like. Wear it to work/school for a few days under your clothes. It will pick up your scent, your deodorant, and your perfume. Put it in an envelope with a picture of you (fully clothed, but wearing that shirt on top) with a note - something like "Just thinking of you" or "I can't wait to see you again"

When he smells the shirt, it will remind him of you. Some use them for pillow covers, but I have seen others curl up with them like teddy bears. Most G.I.'s sleep better when they have a shirt like this from a loved one. It is also small enough to pack and carry around in his field bag - though a large zip lock bag may be needed to preserve the effect.

It may not sound like a big deal, but trust me - it will be one of the best presents he gets.
