I'm looking for suggestions on what I should send my boyfriend who is currently stationed in Iraq? more specifically, what should I send for Thanksgiving?
I've sent him granola bars, cereal, canned fruit, etc.. he doesn't really like sweets too much- and I did just send him some homemade crumb cake (hopefully it'll make it okay)..
Any suggestions please... THANK YOU!!

I know Thanksgiving isn't really a time for gift-giving, but my hubby said that anything to pass the time over there is much appreciated. I sent him an iPod, he really liked that. I never tried this, but if you have a FoodSaver (the things that you vacuum the air out of food storage bags) you could make a turkey dinner for him, put it in the foodsaver bags, send it to him and he would have options from there. Either he could microwave it, drop the unopenned bag in a pot of boiling water, or if the bag is small enough, use an MRE heater.

I always enjoyed getting items that challenged my intellect during the slow times (and there are slow times). Send used items like Rubic's Cube - with downloaded help if he's never tried it - or those mind twisters where you untangle the nails. Have fun, get those capsules you drop in water and expand into dragons and such. Go to a gag store and just fill up on this sort of inexepensive fun stuff. It will take his mind of being away for a few minutes, and his buddies can enjoy the fun as well. |

Well you can send him anything that well not ruin. Because it takes so long to get everything shipped to each squadron over there. I sent my husband some pictures of me and family and some cards that friends sent. I always included his favorites and a calling card with several hundred minutes on it so he could call home you may contact kids to make him pictures and stuff they love making stuff for soldiers overseas. |

You can send thanksgiving in a box. I belong to soldiers angels and on their site they have tons of ideas.
I sent my soldier, lots of movies and tv shows on dvd, an assortment of magazines, the sports pages of a few days of the paper, some food, some toiletries, tums, cough droops and some first aid stuff. something for the water like koolaid, and sports drink powder, a disposable camera and a phone card, they need the military at&t card.The idea of a picture of you was great.
