Yes, food is acceptable and would be appreciated. Remember to try and send a little extra, he will have someone he will want to share your love and care with. God Bless Him and all the other men and woman that are at war for our country. What a kind sister you are, there are many that don't have support of a loving family. |

I would send food. Most people send CD players and music, but I think that wouldnt be the smartest thing to send since you need to be aware of your surrondings and having a head phone set on your head will not help you when your under attack and you cant hear what's going on. |

Socks, Candy & Gum, CD's or DVD's, and Miscellaneous Toiletries... The link the one person included for care-packages is outstanding !
I was in the US Navy, did nine 6-month deployments, and will say the best things for me were: letters, pictures, Tabasco Sauce (makes MRE's and other foods palatable), Hard Candy, Spare boot sox and underwear, small model toys, and video tapes of US programming. This was in the days prior to satellite television or phones, email, CD's or the internet.
Please also include my respect and concern... even for a Marine (he'll understand the joke).
Also... thank YOU and the others who are taking the time to support my brothers in arms |

bottled water would be good. and a letter would probably be the best thing , I wasn't in Iraq I was in bootcamp when I got discharged but believe me getting a letter from my family and friends was the best present anyone could have ever given me. |

Tootsie rolls and chocolate Twizzlers don't melt. If you send chapstick, send the Burt's Bees wax in a tin, that also doesn't melt. The kind of gum that has the hard shell on it is good. I always send the tubes of drink mix that you can put into individual water bottles, like Crystal Lite, because they get so bored with plain water. Comics are HUGE. They pass them around and it reminds them of home. Tabasco is big, too because it helps hide the nasty flavor of the food.
Those are just a few, but I'd be happy to share more, just email me. |

Send him some Halloween Candy. Something he'll miss from home. (Make sure its not chocolate, that'll melt). I hear they have DVD players if you've seen a movie you like lately. |

My hubby is in the Army and I sent him alot of care packages. During holidays get him holiday candy (not chocolate though). Make sure to write alot and send pics. They can always use things like clothes and personal hygiene stuff. Send cards for no reason. I did that and it helped my hubby to know I was thinking about him constantly. Also send him my Thanks! Hope this helps! |

Send your brother your PRAYERS, because he is unaware that it is not about a "war on terror" or "fighting for freedoms". It's REALLY about THIS!...
