What should be done to low life people like this?

This guy was profiting off the back of people who risked their lives. How should he be punished?

He's not the first nor shall he be the last. I remember catching some old toe rags out on the 50th anniversary of VE day who claimed they were collecting for the British Legion (however more than a few things were amiss so reported them to the police).
As for his punishment he should be flogged publicly, however this won't be on the cards because of today's society. If he is given community service then it should be the service or ex service community that he spends his hours with. These should total the amount or estimated amount (then doubled) of the hours it would take if he earned the minimum wage to replace the money he has stolen.
He should be named and shamed. In the US there is a website called stolen Valor (sic) where they do this to those who in effect have stolen the valor of their country's servicemen and women, it has also been made a federal offence to to do this. |

He deserves a custodial sentence, but being of no fixed abode he would probably regard it as a favour to be the guest of Her Majesty for a period.
It isn't practicable to make a Community Service Order for someone without ties. Perhaps they'll fix him up with a place at a Bail Hostel. Again, an improvement in his lot.
Is it possible that some people are beyond punishing? |

He's probably given your government some ideas for raising money. |

He'll probably get 20 hours community service, digging allotments, and won't even turn up.
That's the sentence most criminals in Britain get today.

My own feeling is that he should get a custodial sentence, and let a couple of "old lags" deal out what he deserves.
There were things like that in WW2, people saying all kind of lies to extract money from wives and parents, who trusted them. It really is evil. |

We all know what we would like to do. Sadly I fear there are others out there who do the same - and not only to service charities. Perhaps a new statutory offence could be brought into law? |

He should be tethered to a post in an Afghan village on a thursday night wearing ****-less chaps... his face would be a picture come friday morning, as would his ringpiece. Not to sure that wearing non military issue boots automatically identifies you as some sort of con artist though? |

Oh wow. That is just LOW. I dont know what they are going to do with this slimy scumbag, but i'd say life in prison. |

Perhaps he should be sent to the front line to get a taste of what people are going through.
By the same token, the global capitalists who send people to war on their behalf should also get a taste of real combat, as they are the only people who profit. |
