What substances can be used in the military? I DON'T WANT TO BE JUDGED!!!?

I can't smoke cannabis, like I used to (which I believe is safer than both tobacco and alcohol) because I am in the process of signing to the U.S. Air Force. I was just wondering, are there any substances, other than tobacco and alcohol, that the military does NOT test for? Also,is it true that Absinthe is legal here now? Additional Details dIm....YOU are the douche! I am not a burnout,I simply enjoyed a good joint on occasion but, I believe i said I did not want to be judged!besides, you don't know what my life is like and what I've had to deal with.
Brian-I thought Absinthe has wormwood in it which is known for cause hallucinations/trips.

There are three substances which can be used legally by a military member- alcohol, tobacco, and peyote. However, there are very specific guidelines for their use. Alcohol may be used by a service member who is over the legal age for consumption in the host nation where he or she is stationed. This is true for tobacco as well, however, there are certain programs within the military in which tobacco use is a disqualifying factor such as Command Fitness Leader(Navy). Peyote may be used under direct supervision by a religious leader for religious ceremonies and only with written permission from a commanding officer-- it's use is extremely rare and tightly controlled. As for testing procedures, military members are required to undergo routine, random urinalysis. The testing process is highly controlled and the sample provided by the member will be screened for a number of compounds including prescription medications, illicit drugs, and steroids. The latter of the three tested for and confirmed by a separate laboratory. As for Absinthe, its manufacture, sale, and consumption is perfectly legal in the United States and it does not contain any hallucinogenic or illicit compounds.

The information on what compounds are tested for is publicly available and wormwood is what gives Absinthe its bitter taste, but it does not cause halucinations. If you want to join, I would suggest you never even consider taking steroids, or any other "questionable" substances while in. I do not know the specifics of the Air Force's drug testing policy, but they can't be that different from the Navy's. I was the urinalysis coordinator for the USS Carl Vinson and worked directly with the urinalysis program for almost a year prior to my discharge. |

The military tests for a lot of stuff, I'm not sure if they put out that kind of information but I know some guys have even been caught on legal medications that they didn't have a prescription for. So I'm not sure your gonna wanna take the chance... |

Best choice is to not do anything. You will feel better and your superiors will like it.
Dont take risks with controlled or illegal substances, it is NOT worth it.
If you must do something, drink. |
