What type of training does someone go through to get a job with homeland security?

I am looking into a homeland security job. I want to know what kind of training those people go through, and would I ever have to go to another state or city for it?

Also the job said it is in a certain city close to me, would they ever move me to somewhere else or anything?

There is no such thing as a homeland security job.

There are different departments within the department of homeland security.

So it would depend on just what you wanna do.

Airport screeners are homeland security
Some guards at military bases are under homeland security
Customs is under homeland security
Border patrol is under homeland security.

generally federal departments never move you when first hired, but yes you can be transfered to other locations later on.
