I know the smart move was trying to get the pirates come out of the boat so snipers can make them fish food but what if the pirates food? the USS Bainbridge was going to tow them all the way to a shore in Somalia? then what?

According to the article linked below they convinced the pirates the life boat would be more stable in the choppy seas. It had nothing to do with exposing the pirates for the snipers. The tow was in place well before the shots were fired.

i agree with the 3 answers given..tow out of rough waters and get real close to moniter situation and get a clear shot..the us navy doesn't want any incident like what the french navy did.. |
