Mine was a '49 Chevy. It got about 11 mpg in the city and about 14 on the highway. Good tires lasted maybe 15,000 miles. You had to u-bolt an aftermartket oil filter kit onto the intake manifold because the oil filter wasn't provided on a Chevy at that time.
My present GM car is bigger and more powerful and gets 32 mpg on the highway, or about 27-1/2 mpg overall. Cars have come a long way.
Did you know? -- The first Model "T" Ford was designed to run on ethanol, because gasoline wasn't readily available, and Henry Ford figured that farmers would want to make their own ethanol.. |

The 1998 Chevy S-10 pickup that I own to this day. But the greatest vehicle I have a license for is an M1A2 Abrams tank. I'll probably get one when I scratch together the 5 million dollar or so down payment. |

The first car I drove was my dad's huge green Torino stationwagon. The first car that I had that was my own was a 68 yellow volkswagon Beetle that had no heat. I lived in Michigan along the lake. Bad place to have a car with no heat! |

Later I got my own first car, a 1967 Ford Mustang that was barely running and that I fixed up, painted, and restored fully. Bought it for $600 in 1977, sold it for $3500 a year later! |
