First, don't fall victim to the belief that Germany was the "bad guy" in WW1.

German participation in WW1 was in no way similar to what the NAZIs were in WW2. Germany did not start the war, they were brought in because one of their allies got pulled into a war.

Their relations with their neighbors were varied, they were allied with some.. they were in competition with others.
