just trying to figure out how much I will be making after all deductions and with all the benefits. My wife lives overseas and I don't know how BAH is gonna work for us. I am still doing all her immigration paper work.

Are you saying that I am not entitled to bah? I have to give my wife support , she is my dependent!

You will not get BAH with your wife living overseas, you might get BAH based on where you are going through training but don't count on it. Overseas housing is under OHA and is done differently, it is not something that can be paid out right away. You might not qualify for Family Separation either as she is not in the US. Those are the only 2 allowances you would qualify for.
Take out about 25/28% for standard deductions of Federal and State Income Tax, Medicare and Social Security. Then there is the SGLI ($27 a month), AFRH ($.50 a month), FSGLI (up to $10 a month), Advance Debt ($250 for things you bought while there), GI Bill ($100 a month).
ETA: because your spouse is outside the 50 US States you do not have a US Zip code that she is residing at and the BAH is not based on the cost of rentals in that area as an average. In the US Territories and foreign countries there is what is called OHA and that is based solely on the amount of rent or mortgage paid each month up to a certain limit. They can give you BAH based on where you lived before or where you are stationed at but that is not paid right away, it might not be seen until you are in Tech School. I know someone that lived in Guam and her husband didn't get BAH until he completed Basic and went to school because they needed more documentation. The same can happen to you if necessary. |

You should recieve BAH but it will be based on your first duty station's location, not your wifes. |
