Once it becomes obvious that there is a fuel shortage, a refuel aircraft would be dispatched and they would do a mid air refuel. |

If that were to even become a problem like say Air Force one is down to 10% of its fuel capacity then the would radio it in and a tanker would be sent in to refuel Air Force One. |

EDIT, ya gotta wonder about 3 negatives, for answering what would happen if the aircraft ran out of fuel.

your scenario is darn near unlikely to happen, only way it would run out of fuel would be for a fuel leak to occur and even then that's not a big problem, there are checklists that the crew runs for such and other emergencies. And since we are talking AF 1, it would be cleared direct to the nearest airport it could land at. Biggest area to be concerned about would be over the ocean.
As far as the engines go, they would just jump on the back-up jet that flies behind the first AF 1. |
