My Marine friend told me that they'll threaten to push your graduation back, but he said such threats are hollow. He said it's better not to let anybody push you around in boot. Is this good advice???
I wouldn't appreciate other recruits getting in my face--at all.

Unfortunately this is done in the military and in the Marines it seems more so.
You probably would be set back if you caused problems in boot camp.
Marines are strange about boots complaining about being *pushed around.* They maybe Semper Fi but they like to push your buttons to see
what makes you *tic.* |

This happens frequently. When I was a Drill Sergeant I would have the recruits hold hands 24/7 for 2 or 3 days. Always worked |

Boot camp is just like prison. Right when you get there you need to earn your steez. Find the biggest dude (recruit, DI, doesn't matter) and knock him out. Then at chow take other people's food. You don't need to eat it. You just need to take it from them to show that you're in charge. You sound like a tough guy "I wouldn't appreciate other recruits getting in my face--at all"

With your attitude, you will never make it through boot camp. Unless you work together as a team and help each other out, you are totally screwed. And your fellow recruits WILL get in your face f you screw up, because if one screws up,. everybody pays. And they will get in your face for screwing up. That is guaranteed. Hollow threats? Just wait and see. |
