Whats AIT like? I believe its like 12 weeks. Just wondering what they do everyday.. And what they do if they stay there after AIT is over

If you already now how vehicles work the first part of AIT is kinda boring, but it does get a little better later on when you get to work on the different types of vehicles. Unfortunately there is no way they can teach you everything you need to know so the biggest thing they teach is how to use a manual so you can find the answer yourself. That and the STEICE (simplified test equipment for internal combustion engines) a little computer you hook up to the vehicle so you can run checks on it, (the thing is a waste of time 99.9% of the time). When you say stay there after AIT, if your talking about being stationed there you would no longer be considered a trainee which means you can not mess with, talk to, make fun of, and so on, of any trainee because if you do the wrath of the whole food chain (chain of command) will be brought down on you. |

The take care of all the maintenance on all vehicles. Oil changes, repairs, etc. It's an auto mechanic. Lots of hours keeping vehicles in top condition.
Hard work, but valuable work. |
