Never seen the movie but if America were being invaded by a foreign army, I'd take out my WASR10/63 (Romanian semi auto only AK47) and take to the streets to fight the enemy. I'd make sure they'd have to fight quite hard if they wanted to take my country and do everything possible to make it a horrific experience for them. |

Considering the amount of money America spends on defense, I would relax and let our armed forces take care of the problem. Otherwise, what's the point of having them. If I were able to get a gun, I would of course attempt to protect myself and my loved ones. |

Hey idiots comparing this question to Iraq...
If I had spent years begging for some outsider to come in and invade my country and dispose of the current government then I more than likely wouldnt fight the people who attempted to do just that.
I have read the posts above me comparing this question to the situation with Israel, Palestine, and Iraq.
To Shanahan.....If you have a problem with Israel occupying what used to be Palestine why dont you blame the people who came up with the idea? You know like the UK and France......

The people in Iraq begged for years for someone to come and and remove Saddam Hussein. The ones fighting allied forces in Iraq are mostly not Iraqi, if they are Iraqi they are being controlled by of course NON-IRAQI's.......I know I had to fight them. Iraqi's were cheering in the streets when we took Saddam out of power, of course various Islamic fundamentalist groups are now attempting to get Iraqi and foreign fighters to hurt the US effort there.
The Iraqi's have free elections, and a democratically elected government THAT ASKS US TO STAY THERE.
Comparing this question to the situation in Iraq is complete lunacy, but I guess lunacy isnt a stretch for some of you.
As for what I would do during an UNPROVOKED attack of the US....I would attempt to go back into the US Armed Forces or at the very least attempt to fight them as best I could.
However....if the US somehow got under the control of a military dictator who used chemical weapons on his own population, and then my own people were asking for other countries to come in and get rid of him....No then I more than likely wouldnt attempt to stop them...what I just described was the situation in Iraq prior to the 2003 invasion so everyones little hippy analogy with Iraq is LOGICALLY FALSE...

Like the insurgents in Iraq resisting a foreign occupier, I'd probably make an attempt to fight back.
This would probably involve driving down to my Army Reserve unit and signing out our F88 Rifles from the armory.

Did they really? The majority of them, perhaps? Enough to justify an invasion and occupation in the eyes of everyone in Iraq? Invading another country for having a brutal dictator in power isn't justified anymore. At least not enough to cause an uproar. The majority of insurgent forces are Iraqi, unless you want to state some sources (look up the Mahdi Army - they've attacked US forces in the past and outnumber Al Qaeda by a ridiculous proportion).
And just how many Iraqis don't want the Americans to stay? How many Iraqi citizens dance in the street after a Humvee has been blown up? Regardless of what proportion of a population supports foreign invasion and occupation in their home country, most insurgents are motivated not by fundamentalist religion, but by what they see as foreign aggression in their land. That's the reason why any defence force would do its job.
You either mind your own business or you mind everyone's business - so invade Myanmar already, or wouldn't the cost of liberating the bereaved people in American lives be worth it? Surely someone resists wherever you go, that's the way things are in the world - foreign aggression always meets resistance. |
