When Applying to Naval Academy Is It better to do...?

I'm in high school preparing myself to get accepted to the USNA (community service, grades, physical stuff, etc.). But what I am wondering is if I should do 3 sports or do 2 and be really good at them. I mean should I do a sport and 2 seasons of another (and captain for the 2 seasons sport.) or should I do 3 sports and only be captain once. In my opinion being captain 2 times a year is better than 1.. but your opinions?

Quantity of sports is not important. My buddy went the Naval Academy after High school and he only ran cross country and track. He had an impressive, very well rounded application with his senatorial recommendations. If you do 3 sports and submit sub par grades and application, those sports will not ensure entrance into the academy. I suggest you do sport/s, but only what is practical in ensuring you maintain a fantastic GPA and does not impeded on other aspects of your life. |
