When the mission is complete but i am sure we will always have a presence there of some sort for a long time to come. we do not easily give up good strategic locations where bases are located.

Nope, its going to be an ongoing battle. This is not something that we can just pull out of just bcuz it seems as though its over. It is by far over. There is way to much money ect, on the line, and neither side is gonna cave.

It's like brer rabbit and the tar baby. We touched it and now we are stuck. So far as I can see, there is no reason at all for being in Afghanistan. They will continue to do their own nasty thing wether we are there or not. Afghanistan is really a collection of inbred hill billies living in isolated valleys, (so maybe they should be called valley billies)
They have always been at war with the gang in the next valley because it's tradition, they have forgotten why. They have always been murderous sods without honour, always raiding and stealing from each other and the people in what is now Pakistan. That is why the Brits. kept forces along the North West Frontier and the Khyber pass to keep them out. We used to send young officers there to blood them, to get them used to guerrilla warfare and ambushes. They were cruel savages then and they have not changed. Ask the Russians what happened to their guys who got taken prisoner. All that we are doing is sending them targets. As for Irak, it was the politicos who buggered that up in their own inimitable manner. In the first gulf war we had all the Arab states on our side, and General Scwartzkopf wanted to go on into Bagdad and collar Hussein and finish the job with approval from all the Arab world. But Washington stopped him. If he had done what he wanted to do, then Irak would have a stable government now instead of anarchy. We are stuck there now until we can paste together some kind of government that will last long enough for us to get out.

The only people who got their *** kicked were the UK and US soldiers sent there illegally by Bush and Blair - they will hopefully return when Bush goes and someone with common sense brings them back to their families.

The rest of them will come home whenever the President gets his act together.

Nope. not till we figure out what is considered winning the war. there is honor involved. we stayed to long trying to convert them to a democracy and the realization of if we leave how can we say we won now. If we left as soon as we got Saddam we could have left and all would been OK, but instead we stayed and gave the bad guys a target a big as a house our image and reputation. The only way to leave now is hope something else stupid happens there with Iran or someone else and prove it is a good thing we stayed. probably pakistan the way things are going. yes we can fight and run. if we did we wouldn't be answering this question. the only way for a new country to stand is to learn on its own. as long as we are there the nay sayers will think we are trying to make them like us and not like themselves and they will fight it. they have to have in fighting and a strong leader to get them to see they need a better way and the person that will be will never talk to america because we are the enemy in the peoples eyes. telling the leaders of the various tribes to controll the terrorist doesn't work because the leaders are not connected to them if they were they would have better bodyguards right?

if we dont ever get out, it will never finish. as long as were there, they are killing us and the president just keeps sending more like if were made in some ******* factory and were mass produced or some ****! ill tell you when its over... when we nuke the **** out of them.

Depends on who is president. Honestly, we can't fully leave until everything is stable, you can't fight and leave.
