85% of Iraqi oil output is under contract to Compagnie Petrol De Francais. The last time I looked there were no French troops within the multinational forces coalition in Iraq. Prior to the execution of Operation Iraqi Freedom we received no Iraqi oil because it was embargoed. We received none after Iraq invaded Kuwait either.
Since Compagnie Petrol De Francais is a state-owned enterprise of the French government, neither George Walker Bush or any other person own any shares in that company.

You can say the war is about regional control, military preemption on Israel's behalf or even the idealistic spread of democracy. But if you think oil was the focus of this war then you have really bought into propaganda which is no better than the propaganda that sold this war in the first place. Look at oil reserves, oil production, untapped oil supplies and the influence Iraq had on OPEC and you will see that it would have made more sense to invade Alaska over Iraq. Now I'm not a fan of the war but if you're going to say it's a farce, don't justify that but running to a radical left idea.
