Personal admin is always top priority in the field as far as I am concerned and I'm sure that Prince Harry was just as 'bulled-up' as the next man. But, as any serving soldier right now will agree, when you're in theatre and not anywhere near your grot, It's not practical to have regulation cut and shave whilst the Taliban is shaking his RPG in your direction!
If you have served in the forces you should be aware of this!! Get off the Prince's back anyway. At least he tried to do what he trained to do! |

General Jackson (ret'd) did agree the bushy-headed "warrior prince" looked a bit over-grown - due to lack of barbers. But I reckon it was all part of the staged media hype - as cameras & sound crew shot him 'in action' - and now released for public consumption. One would have thought the Household Cavalry had at least one pair of scissors - and one of his mates would have given him a scalp - if only to avoid sand in the hair.
???
If he'd grown a beard - worn shades- and been posted as "Rupert" - his ID could have remained anon for a lot longer than 10 weeks - surely ???
Who do they think they are kidding - I doubt it's the enemy. |

When you are on deployments like Afghanistan - certain regulations are relaxed. Its just not practical.
I have to say - and I'm seriously not a royalist (just the opposite to be frank), I was impressed with the boy when he was interviewed on his return. |

It does,nt matter what length the hair is when in combat, only when back in barracks and with the regiment on parade etc would the need for smartness apply again. |

Whilst in theatre in places like Afghanistan/Iraq it is deemed acceptable to wear your hair a little longer; you're also allowed to have facial hair as you blend in better with the locals. Having a military short back and sides makes you stand out like a sore thumb!! |

when you are on active duty you are allowed to let your hair grow a little bit more as there are less facilities etc. |

Maybe they dont let barbers up to the front line. Most of the guys doing the fighting look a little bushy in the pictures we are allowed to see.
Good point well made. maybe he decided to take a rifle and some ammo up to the front line instead of his clippers |

Hey I wondered about that, it was certainly unruly wasn't it. For a very nasty moment the thought came into my head that perhaps he had never gone to Afghanistan at all. |

The regulations for the Brits are different than that of US military with regards to grooming and hair-length, etc. I believe that Denmark at one time had totally abolished their regulations with regards to grooming and you should have seen the hippies in uniform. That lasted for about three years before they decided to change it back to something akin to what they had before. |

Emmmmmmmm i wonder does it have something to do with the fact that they are fighting on the front line ?
They are lucky if they get enough cold water to have a shower out there |

With DNA testing in mind they aren't going to let "Anyone" near that with a pair of scissors
Would You reckon that was about ten weeks growth
And what "Front line
Afghanistan is a fair sized Country Just because he is over the boarder doesn't mean he is at "The Front"
You can't play Football near any front line otherwise could be returning home with a D.S.O
