still an enlistment incentive??? i've heard from several credible sources that it is still an incentive and that although it's sort of pushed as a guarantee, that it actually isn't. in fact, the only way it'll actually be guaranteed is if they need you and there are openings in that particular place... aka where you WANT to go intertwines/is equivalent to where they need you to be.
HOWEVER!!.......*bum bum bum!*... my recruiter told me this incentive is no longer available... so whose bs do i call???

I never heard of anyone getting duty station of choice on their first assignment. You can get it will your first reenlistment though.
You fill out a wish list for 3 places stateside and 3 places overseas.
Your best bet during AIT call your branch manager and request the duty station you want. They can tell you if any slots are open or not. |

It is possible to get it, but not very common. Sometimes if you go to say Airborne school, you will get stationed at bragg, that is how i got it in my contract when i signed up.You wont know what your first duty assignment until about half way through AIT. It all depends on what units are short for your MOS. |

There are no guarenteed duty assignments in enlistment contracts for any service.
