Maybe we should bring all our troops back home and let the rest of the world fight it out amongst themselves. And when the Jihadis has taken over the middle east then Europe and Africa we can just Nuke them and get it over with. Does this seem like a good solution to you ? Or would you rather have us help rid the world of such radicals who want nothing more than for you to worship their religion or die.

The US never lost a war because our military was crushed and defeated and forced to surrender.
We didn't officially lose in Korea or Vietnam. Our spineless politicians pulled our troops out too soon before they were able to complete their objective and the world counts those as losses.
Plus, with the UN and all those anti war protesters as well as the mainstream media putting pressure on our politicians, our troops are sent into battle with their hands tied behind their backs to fight against an enemy that doesn't fight fair.
If our troops were allowed to cut loose and unleash their true potential, we could've flattened Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq in a matter of months if not weeks.
Also, are you forgetting Operation Desert Storm? Our troops destroyed the Iraqis with very minimal casualties in just over a month. That's because the world was behind our troops and our military was allowed to do what it took to win. |

Iraq was defeated in 2003 and the war was won.......wasn't it?
The US found all the WMD's and killed all the Al Quaida in Iraq......oh, Al Quaida were in Afghanistan, my mistake. and the WMD's? we won't mention them.
We can declare the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as over and won as soon as.....what were the objectives again?
if you don't know why you're there you will never now when you've done what you set out to do.

The last war we were in was the 2'nd world war. And we were allowed to kick A**. If we were allowed to do the same in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. you would definitely see a different war. We try to limit collateral damages while still obtaining our objectives. If we were allowed to go in full force and not worry about civilian casualties then we would have had our foes want to sign an unconditional surrender in a matter of weeks. But we are fighting with our hands tied against an enemy that doesn't care about who gets killed. Including their own soldiers and civilians. I don't know what country your from. But I can tell that you listen to anti American propaganda crap. You should be happy that we have brave soldiers fighting for your freedoms. |

11,000 Iraqi soldiers and policemen KIA
4,200 Coalition KIA
17,000-20,000 Insurgents KIA, of which the majority probably aren't even Al Qaeda
Hardly the one sided fight you think it is. Not to mention that losing men doesn't hurt the insurgents as much as it hurts the security forces. |

In war, there are no winners. But you're right: it is high time America stopped meddling in other countries' affairs. That's why it appears 'we' haven't 'won' in awhile: the stakes are never clear! What would be 'winning' in Iraq? All the bad guys dead? They're training new ones every day. Democracy reigning supreme in a way it never has in our own country? It's an impossibility, as our own system demonstrates.
The fact is, there's just no winning to international-interference type war, so it'll never be won. It's not like it's the Revolution, where winning meant we weren't under British rule, or the Civil War, where winning meant the Union stayed together. We're forcing ourselves upon other countries to do what WE think is in their best interests. That's what we need to stop doing. |

They lost the first Vietnam battle but then invaded with McDonalds, Microsft etc. and asymilated the lesser mortals to become their slaves making their trainers and clothes. The same will happen for Iraq. They might appear to loose the war but Iraq will supply cheap oil to america for years to come. and jsut for a few thousand mexican and red neck soldiers and a few billion dollars, cheap at half the price Win win!! you have to look at the big picture. Not until they have a leader who knows how to fight a war.
The job of any army is to kill people and break stuff. And all of this concern over civilian casualties and not torturing prisoners is nonsense.
Starting with Viet Nam, our leaders have been afraid to really use the power of the military to its full potential.
A strong leader would have levelled most of the cities in Iraq within the first days of that war, then ordered the use of Neutron bombs in the Afghan mountains, so the Taliban wouldn't have existed any more. But if another faction popped up in North Pakistan and Pakistan did nothing about it, we would have just started bombing anyway and tell Pakistan that next time they should do the job we told them or keep their f**king mouth shut.
But no, Clinton would bomb isolated factories when there were just a couple janitors on duty. And Bush is meticulously concerned about innocent lives and minimizing collateral damage.
War is HELL, and it should be unleashed as such.
The reason we continue to have so many wars is because we're trying to make war "nice". If war was properly used -- total annihilation and destruction -- it becomes a powerful bargaining chip to avoid future conflict.
Case in point: Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The total devastation of nuclear weapons continues to keep peace between the US and the USSR. The power of nuclear warfare worked exactly as it should.
Only when a superpower finally flexes its muscles in appropriate situations can it use the power of PEACE to get things done.
We've neglected that duty and responsibility. |
