When should my BAH show up in my pay, back BAH as well?

Im owed 3 months of backpay BAH, I submitted my paperwork on March 30th, I just checked my LES for May 1st. My BAH,nor my backpay showed up. Is this normal? Im really tempted to walk into PSD on Monday and chew this PS3 who handled my request. Help, please.

Ed,
They have hosed your paperwork up. You need to go back and make sure that they have run the documentation and that it is correct. Rather than chew the PS3 out find out where the ball was dropped and start there, if it is something they can fix they will. Don't leave until you know what the status is. If they give you the run around request mast and make sure you have a synopsis of everything you have done in order to fix this issue including who you have talked to.

How do you know it was the PS3 that didn't submit the paperwork, maybe they did and then something happened. It can take up to 45 days after you submit the paperwork before it will show up on your pay, that puts it Mid-May.
Go in and don't raise heck, ask politely why it isn't on your pay, do they require more information, copy of something. Asking nicely will get you a lot farther than raising hell because if you do the later then don't expect the pay for awhile. |

Unfortunately it is normal. I got promoted and it took them 4 months to pay me IAW my new rank. It's the military and things happen with paperwork all the time. But if you're owed it, you'll get your back pay. Just be polite but persistent to your unit administrator until it's fixed. Sorry, I know it's frustrating but it happens. |
