no we do not use batons not unless we have to fill in for police at riots. and no we do not get pepper spray or cs gas issued as standard unless it is needed for operations. so no is your answer. |

In basic training you will go into the gas chamber to test your respirator drills (changing canister, eating, drinking etc) and they use CS gas on you for realism but you will not use CS against anyone. In public order (riot) situations you wull be using a 2.5 foot wooden baton as well as the 6ft polycarbonate riot shield. The army is a last ditch resort in public order situations and so all the good stuff goes to the first line of defence: the police. You do get to use the baton gun though, fires a non-lethal rubber projectile that is the equivalent of getting hit with a full can of Coke at 60 miles per hour, very nice piece of kit. |

You will get trained in all aspects of crowd control, this will included CS Gas (pepper spray is a police thing) batons are used but rarely and mostly by the military police. You will also be trained in the use of rubberPLASTIC bullets, you will only be issued them if there is an operational need to do so |
