When will I recieve my insurance package while my husband is in BMT?

My husband has been in BMT for the Air Force for about a month now, and i still havent recieved anything about insurance or and ID card. I have appointments and things to take care of but cannot because I dont have any insurance. When can I expect these things to arrive?

When your information is entered into DEERS you are automatically enrolled into Tricare Standard. With Standard there is a yearly deductible and a co-pay for each visit to a doctor/clinic/hospital approved by Tricare. You should receive a package in the mail that authorizes you to get a Military ID card from teh closest base or reserve center. When that happens you can then change to Tricare Prime or Prime Remote. With Prime there is no co-pay but you must be seen on base or a doctor/clinic/hospital approved by Tricare Prime Remote. With Prime it doesn't start until the beginning of each month and you must register before the 20th otherwise it will not start until the following month.

you should be covered if he youre married. he should havedone the paper work his first week there. contact his recruiter and see if he can get you on base to get you an id card. for tri care which is the militarys insurance all you need to do is give them you social and tell them its through tri care
