did you maybe mean south korea? we've been there since the 50's and are still there. We've long been out of 'nam and I have yet to compare Iraq to 'nam if that's what you were meaning. As a wife i refuse to believe that it's going to get as bad to spit on soldiers that are coming home from the pain of war. If it does get that bad i hope i don't live to see that day. |

By April 30th, 1975, even the U.S. Embassy had been evacuated. If any Americans stayed behind, it was because they wanted to or they were completely out of touch.
When I say "out of touch," it means they had blended in with the locals and didn't keep abreast of events through the embassy and consulate. If they had kept in touch, they'd know about the upcoming plans to evacuate and they would have left long before Saigon fell on April 30th, 1975. |
