When will World War 3 start ?

History is very discriminating when it comes to calling a war a 'world war.' Up till now, there has only been two world wars.

Have you heard of the Yom Kippur war in 1973, Israel vs a coalition of Arab nations....Egypt, Syria and Jordan. That was worse than the current situation.....it didn't raise a blip on the world war scenario (not that it didn't have the potention as a spark)...just relegated to the heap of regional conflicts between rump states.

When the strategic super powers square off into two camps, then come back and we'll talk world war.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, proxy wars, and brinksmanship.... After the next world war, we'll be back into the stone age and you won't have to worry whether a world war occurred or not.

There are currently 40 (+ or -) conflicts in the world right now, but none are between the super powers in open declarations of war. The Cold War wasn't hot and the war on terror does not involve superpowers in open conflict...sorry.

u negligient idiots uptheir who talk about iran, and going to far....let me tell you something ok??? I flew 8 sorties on a F/22A Fighter Pilot in 2 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ive been to Iran, seen the suidide bombings, observed pictures of supposed nuclear weapons facilities....GUESS WHAT....THeir were none! Iran is only giving the US an empty threat. Their willl be no WW3 u all know why? because....no one is willing to nuke the other..a mutual agreement because if one country say N korea does nuke the USA, then they know they will be ennilated from the face of the earth. SO therefore, everyone is scared and no one is willing to fight.

I doubt that a "world war" will happen simply because all the superpowers realize that it would destroy the world as we know it. Only the fanatical Muslim extreme groups are crazy enough to use weapons of mass destruction. They will one day create another 911 but will then ultimately be destroyed by the rest of the civilized world. Remember that all the super powers are NON-Muslim nations & the extremists want to destroy all non-Muslims.
