i am supposed to get an enlistment bonus of $8,000. when will i get this?

As has been said, it depends on the branch.
I know with my friend (in the Marines) he got a $20,000 sign on bonus and he had to wait until he completed all of his training (boot camp, MCT, and MOS school) before he could get the paperwork processed to have it deposited in his account (granted, after taxes it was only $14,000). He also gets a "kicker" which will be paid out to him in monthly increments for like, the next 10 years I think? Or maybe for the 6 years of his enlistment. I could be wrong on the payout time. |

I don't know if this helps, but mine was divided in to 6 installments because I enlisted for 6 years, and it was dispersed once a year on the anniversary of my original enlistment. I didn't get half after tech school. Talk to your career advancement people. |

Well.. Kinda depends on your branch.
In the Air Force, you get half when you complete tech school. The other half is divided up and given equally on each anniversary of your enlistment. |

Generally after you complete your AIT and report to your first unit. Remember to give your bonus paperwork to your in-processing Finance Office. |

with it being under ten thousand You get it all once your stationed. however remember you do get taxed . and it's a good amount. |

Once you reach your first duty station, they will process your bonus. It takes about 30-60 days to be processed although I've seen it faster. You will get 50% up front minus 33% in taxes. You will receive the other $4000 spread out over your length of enlistment. You will receive a small amount every year, always taxed. |
