I was in Iraq. I think we should be fighting to win this one, insh'Allah. If it is G-d's will, then it will be over. Not before G-d lets it be.

I do not mean to take anything away from this war or minimize the tragic casualties but come on! what other war would you prefer??? Viet Nam??? WWI or WWII??? how about the Civil War and have the South win this time???

sheeesh. this war will be over once the area is stable enough (does not necessary mean conflict-free) for us not to worry about the precious and dwindling supplies of oil being burnt by some sadistic dictator or by the same dictator murdering his own people and funding terrorists to attack innocent victims in other countries merely because they are "infidels".

then the war will be over but if human history has taught us anything, the next war will be just around the corner.

The Iraq war is over! We have defeated Saddam Hussein
and his government. What you mean is the war on terror which is happening now in Iraq and other places such as Afghanistan. The terrorists won't give up and they are prepared to fight a generational long struggle so the war on terror won't stop for a long time.

When Iraq is stable. This war is going extremely well, casualtywise. In all the other wars, the USA suffered casualties up into the 100,000s. This war, we're around 3300. It would take decades to reach the standard casualty level at this pace.

If Hillary or another woman like pelosi is elected it could end in 2009 2010That is stalemate (ceasefire-peacetalk's-detente-etcetera) If true peace come's to humanity, justice and love, it will come within one hundred year's, and the most great peace will mean mankind will advance to higher level's, and war will be a forgotten past, World order and law will replace the curent nationalism of America russia and other's. The Iraqi war will wrap up in the next year or two, however we will then occupy iran and afghanastan. The US wont be out of that area completly for quit a long time im afraid.

I've heard anywhere from 6 months to 10 years. It depends on who wins the 2008 election. I don't think a democrat will permit combat troops to remain in Iraq for more than 1 1/2 years, if that. I also don't think its financially possible to continue military action there for much longer.
