my heart goes out to you. i can't imagine how i'd feel if my fianc'e was away for that long. no one knows when it will end. its like asking how long the road is. but you gotta hold on otherwise all the pain would be in vain. your husband loves you and i'm sure he feels the same way and would love nothing more than to wrap you in his arms. I want my husband back also..as do the rest of the wives want their husbands back, the girlfriends want their boyfriends, the mothers and fathers want their sons and daughters...mine has been gone 11 months 4 more till he is home

I am an army wife, and I am going to answer as honestly, and nicely as I possibly can. My husband has deployed twice since we have been married, and is getting ready for our 3rd, his 5th. We are in a war, one that will not end anytime soon, even if we eventually finish in Iraq. Honey, if you cant handle it, you should find another husband, or try to get him to get out when he comes back. Our husbands need us to be strong in the rear so they can do their job with confidence. They need to stay focused on the mission, and if our husbands are worried about whether or not we can handle things here, then they cant be focused.

So instead of wishing for an end to the war, wish instead for him to get out. *shrugs* You asked, and I answered.

Wars over the Iraqi people just can't come to terms with controlling and securing their own country yet so we as an Honorable, Moral, Duty Bound People are staying in the sandbox until such time as the Iraqi people can take over and IRAN can't invade them.

did you not know that when he joined the military there was a possibility that he would go to war? i am not trying to put you down, believe me (my husband is in iraq too). but our job & duty as wives is to be there for our husbands and support what they signed on to do. i know how bad it hurts to have him away. but he will be home safe and soon. just don't let it get to you (i know i know, it's hard not to let this situation get to you). but just stay as busy as you can. get a job or a hobby. that's what i've done to stay busy. i promise it will get better.

He'll be home when his deployment is over. My husband is deployed to. I'm hoping they don't pull another extension on us.

Congress never declared it so it is an operation. Second we have not lost as long as there are willing people to help those in Iraq to get a balanced well formed government. If you are refuring to President Bush with the sorriest piece of nothing... He is a whole lot better than John Kerry. I am an American Soldier and WILL not let people slander this president or any other president who will lead this country. Hopefully Mitt Romney will be next. To answer your question your husband will be home 15 months from when he left if, the military keeps their promise to only ship soldiers for 15 month intervals. I wish him safety and he is in my prayers.

President Bush already said this way will not end while he is in office.
The current person in charge of Iraq also said it can take up to 10 years before Iraq is stablized.

THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS...we are in a ideology war, or call it a philosophy, the people we are fighting against see us the bad influences of the world, and we see them that way. We see it the Bad guy Vs. Good Guy and we see ourself the Good Guys, well they see themselves the Good Guys and us the Bad guys. It is ALL ABOUT IDEOLOGIES, that your way of thinking, living, and believing is better than mine that kind of ideology, and we try to make them like us. So let's ask ourselves if FREEDOM is about one choosing their own ways of living, why are we choosing them a kind of FREEDOM?
