Yes the (p) is silent and so is (s) .....Its pronounced United States Marine Cor (just dont pronounce the (p) or the (s). If you ever watched the movie "Full Metal Jacket" I think that is the name of it. When the men are in basic training and when they say there songs while jogging that is how they pronounce it as well.
