When you signed a contract with the us army When did you start getting paid?

I have not signed my contract with the army yet but I wanted to know when would I start getting paid, two weeks after I sign my contract or when the send me to Basic training. I will appreciate some clarifications on this.

You will start to get paid the day you sign in for Basic Training. Your report date to go to wherever you are supposed to go for Basic is your Basic Active Service Date (The day you enter the Army) and then you will have a Pay Entry Date also. Which is going to be the same as your Basic Active Service Date. After you sign your contract or before, make sure you ask what your report date is to basic and that date he tells you will be the day that your pay starts. In the military we get paid twice a month. 1st and 15th of every month.

Example: You enter the Army (report to basic) on 3 June 2009. You should get paid on the 15th for 3 June 2009 thru 15 June 2009. Then you will get paid again on 1 July 2009 for 16 June 2009 thru 30 June 2009.

the day you work. if you stop working, they stop paying you. they won't pay you anything until you get to BCT!!

Military pay dates are the 15th and 1st but you will not get paid until you actually leave for basic training.

basically the day you are sworn in is the day you officially join but you start pay in basic training
