Looks like I'm the first Brit on here and it's weird because I agree with you totally. That's why Africa will not be invavded...no oil, no wood, no gas... millions may starve and be massacred but apart from saving life there is nothing else to gain. Get a grip USA this war in Iraq has caused more of a threat to the whole world than that idiot Bush could ever realise.

It doesn't help your case if your facts are wrong, ( i.e. no one has been 'massacred' in Guantanamo Bay,) or to make outrageous suggestions. (What on earth has countries such as Canada, Scotland or Ireland got to fear about about a US invasion ?) It's true, that most of us are far from happy with the whole saga in Iraq and nearly 100 % of the Iraqis would say they are far from happy with the situation since Bush went ballistic, 5 years ago.

Also, there are two main things that would act as a curb on any kind of 'invasion', whether warranted or not. First, the USA is already a bit pressed, militarily. It's hard to wage a war for 5 years without conscription. Next, the sentiment among a majority of US citizens is such that they would be extremely reluctant to opening up another front in which more American soldiers can be sacrificed.

Having said that - watch the present developments between the US and Iran!

Considering that the USS Ronald Reagan is currently on it's way to conduct 'training exercises' in the area of South Korea, and the personnel of the USS Ronald Reagan does not need such 'training exercises' to maintain operational readiness, I'm guessing that the situation in Korea is interrupting Israel's plans for use of the U.S. military. We'll probably get back to Iran and Syria in a little while.
