Which Country has the best trained soldiers in the world?

read the question people, she asked which country has the best trained not branches or special ops. the answer- israel.

in terms of skill, the USA is out of the question, sorry. the Chinese probably have discipline, but lack of general skill i would think due to the numbers.

my guess would be that countries like Israel, Canada, Britain, Germany, France have the best trained in terms of skill

I'd have to agree, the US, the Brits and the Israelis. The Turks have a fierce fighting force, but that seems a matter of tradition born temperament as much as training.

However in recent years US training has suffered, because of overuse of manpower. Too many fronts can drain a fighting force, as can public uncertainty of the fighting cause...

The US seems to be undergoing a returning soldier's morale problem, and it may become a serious problem if not addressed. The so-called 'greatest generation' needs to start treating this generation as well as they themselves expected to be treated, or the politics of it may undercut our fighting force's commitment to a just democracy.

For people who don't believe no.3 , I can tell you India has been facing the brunt of terrorist attacks from a very long time , the likes of which the West are getting used to now . Of course , Israel has been facing this problem since its creation . Time and again , the Indian armed forces have proved their worth by engaging against a better equiped enemy . They fought in wars( 1965 , 1971 ) with vintage tanks ( Vickers ) , fighters like Marut , Hunters , Mig-21's , against its neighbour , Pakistan , the recipient of some generous US military aid until the 80's . Even quite recently , in some joint Indo-US exercise , IAF Mig-21's 'downed' USAF F-16s in a mock dogfight .

Many of the countries out there have a well trained military. It's a matter of who has the better equipment and the desire.

Now how could anyone tell? There are so many professional armies in the world that most people here know very little or even nothing about.

What about Luxembourg, Bermuda, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Spain or perhaps Greece? Or am I expected to believe that armchair generals and people who have been in only one service somehow "know" what the correct answer is?

I'm in the Australian Army - compared with other military forces, we're fairly small. Our intention is to maintain a crack, professional army. I don't know what other militaries are like, but we didn't base our training on the assumption that it's inferior to that of the Americans, Chinese, Israeli or British.

Size isn't really that much of a factor--organization and a focus on quality is more important. It used to be the United States had the best-trained military, before the bush administration l lowered standards and training requirements. Now--its probably the Israelis.

I would say Israel. They have to fight almost on a daily basis and some of their training techniques are even starting to be adopted in the US, such as Krav Maga.

US despite being large in numbers (not as large as China) they have the best trained elite units. Period, no questions asked

China has the absolute largest pool of potential soldiers to choose from and they have the highest standards for admission.

The US has had to lower its standards for admission in the past to get more people to qualify.

China has been able to raise its standards for qualification, because so many men want to join their military.

I would say the Chinese are the best trained, but the US clearly has the best, most advanced equipment.

The training in the US is by far the best. It never stops, ever! The training is done in all aspects at all levels. New ideas are continuosly being persued and either proven or tossed, or held onto for a later time. Most of our close NATO and Pacific allies train allot to, but we have the resources to make it a never ending process, and can make them very complex to attempt to mimic real world as best as possible. We train in all environments, in all places we can around the world. We are ready to take on any challange the instant it presents itself, where ever it may be, and completely dominate in the air, on the land, and at sea. No other nation on this earth can claim that.

The size of military is irrelivant, it is the resources available and used compared to force size that matter. Chin's PLA PLAF and PLAN are large, but when it comes to defense expenditures compared to the size of the force, that should show the quality of their training programs.

Israel is well trained, but very monolithic. They train specifically for the area they are in. If the US was devote all its training resources to one aspect we would be very far beyond them in training quality.

**ADDED** The quality of the training had nothing to do with the size. It has to do with the resources available to train with. The US and Russia have very large standing armies, but the training between the two in not even comparable. The US is non-stop, Russia has a tough time putting fighters in the air to keep air certs up to date!

I'd have to put the Brits, and believe it or not Australia at the top of the list. Followed by Israel and then the US.

It's definitely the Israeli's. They've been under attack almost since they stepped foot in that area and still have been able to protect themselves again much larger forces. The only way to survive for them is to be very militaristic and they have done that. Second, I'd say the US. Largest military and very well-trained.

Technology outweighs all and the US is far ahead of countries like China.

there are a few good army's but most just have elite units that are reasonable to good , the rest of the army are mediocre to poor,
now America can not be classed as top as they shoot more of their own than everyone else,& the elite units are not the best,
across the board i would go for china? uk, canada.

Canada is definatly up there at the top. We train a lot of countries including a lot of america's, don't believe me? my dad used to be in the canadian army including my uncle in the airforce. Also, the Taliban actually complimented the canadians saying we were the best. Another fact is that we have the best spipers in the world.

I'm from the US army right. Ive fought a few contacts over in afganistan and iraq. As ive seen in my experience the soliders from Australia are second to none. Im not talking about special forces or what not, I'm talking about the average troop. Another thing to mention is that they are like glue those guys. After them I would rate the UK and Canada. Ive heard the israeli have well trained soliders too but I have no experience working with them so I wouldn't give any judgement.

In terms of best AVERAGE Soldier, I would have to say either te Australians or Caadians, although tge Australia and British SAS are exceptionally good as well. Numbers are jsut limited for Australians thought, however this has not been too much of an Issue
