Which armed forces of which country is the best in the world. Best trained and best equipped.?

I thought this section was called answers but aelnet10 decided to make a statement.
Anyway, best equiped is a no-brainer. The US can project its power and fight a conventional war like no other nation on the Earth...probably no five nations on the planet. Even a modern Western power like the UK relies on the enormous resources of the US when it goes to war (basing and transportation in Afghanistan and massive fueling and airbase construction logistics in the Falklands)
Training is a different story as there are probably better trained forces or at least elements of those forces.
Many European armies are thought to be as well or better trained, but that is one of the by products of having relatively small armed forces (thanks in part to US defense spending)
The British and Germans (as well as other smaller European nations) have the best special forces and the Israelis have a great conventional army and a superior air force (they both get lots of "practice"

rprich36, arming the thickest bunch of idiots on the planet with the best warfare machinery does not make the US army the best. If they are "so" good then why are they loosing a war against a rag-tag bunch of nomads in Afgoonistan??

Also, the Iraq war was officially "won" 3 years ago, so why are US droops still coming hope in body bags??

Infact, every war effort they have undertaken since WW2 has resulted in the Yanks NIL, small nomadic country WON!

REASON: lack of training - training doesn't just mean teaching them to pull the trigger, but also using their brains, something the yanks know not how to do!

The best army is one that wins most of its efforts, how many do you know of that have done that consistntly??

Australian SAS is actually better than any US or UK versions.

They had the highest kill ratio in the vietnam war of 500:1.
and they have completed most of the most dangerous mission is iraq.
