I don't have experience with the Marines, but I'm sure it is them. I went to a base known as Relaxin' Jackson for BCT. The name says it all. |

Marines.... But join the Army.... HOOAH! |

Everyone on hear says marines and I'd agree, paris Island probably is much harder than relaxin' Jackson. But you gotta consider all those army infantry guys that go through 14 weeks of hell at fort benning. Personally, I'd say they've got it tougher. Nowadays though, basic training has gotten pretty soft in the army. |

when you leave the Marines and you want to join the Army, you dont have to go through there basic, but when you leave the Army and you decide to try to become a Marine you have to go through boot camp...what does that tell you |

Depends. The Marines have a longer Basic, but the Army has Basic and then Advanced Infantry Training, so the Marines aren't any longer than the Army.
The Army has always done the bulk of the fighting and dieing in every war! They don't guard the brigs in Navy ships! |

Marine Corp training as a whole is more physically demanding than the Army. Unless you did your basic at the Infantry Training Brigade on Sand Hill at Fort Benning. By far the most physically demanding as far as basic training goes. |

I would say Marine Boot Camp is the hardest, but if you go to the Army and join the Infantry your looking about the same. Army Infantry Basic tranning is done in Fort Benning Georgia and it is 13 weeks long. All Marines are infantry before anything else so they have to train everyone as infantry.
Now on a side note, I say close down Sand Hill and take everyone back to Chapel Hill in Fort Benning when Army Infantry Tranning was for real LOL.

Physically the marines training is tougher than the armies. They have tougher physical requirements and their job requires them to be able to do more than that of a basic foot soldier. Marine basic is 13 weeks while army basic is 11. the extra time includes more marksmanship trianing with other weapons. The Marines also make their basic training more mentally challenging than that of the Army. All of that to say the Marines have a tougher basic. |

The Marine Corp BCT is tougher than the Army BCT. The Army BCT is 9 weeks while the Marine BCT is 12 weeks |

If you want tougher go Marine. If you want a place to hide and slide, go Army. The army is the welfare, social services of the armed forces. All the dregs of society go there. Only red-blooded Americans who can stand the hard test of their boot camp are allowed to pursue the Eagle Globe and Anchor. Good luck son, good luck. Everyone knows the Marine Boot Camp is harder. |

having survived 13 weeks in marine corps boot camp, i'm biased! lol
the corps instills history and pride of country and corps a little more than army (my hunny is retired army - we have this discussion a LOT) and i think that makes us marines as they say "band of brothers" ...... |

I feel the Marines do have the more rigorous basic training but I just wanted to clear up what Cantcu said. The acronym A.I.T. does not stand for Advanced Infantry Training but for Advanced Individual Training. Not everybody that goes into the Army is infantry. |

Marine Basic is tougher and harder to finish. The Marines as a whole receive training equivalent to special forces of most countries. |
