The Marines...it is tough and you will learn discipline no way around that, but with the toughness comes the pride you are part of something special and small. You be America's force when they need it. You'll deploy to either Iraq or Afghanistan or whereever your unit is needed, but you'll do it knowing you have the entire Corps supporting you. You'll deploy on Navy ships all over the Pacific and Atlantic and see parts of the world never imaginable in other services. You will be a Marine forever and it starts with the hardest 13 weeks of your life at boot camp where you will be built up to be a Marine at the encouraging of your drill instructors. And when it is over, you will have earned the right to wear the Eagle Globe and Anchor and no one or anything can ever take that away from you. Whatever your MOS will be, you will be a Marine Rifleman first, ready to respond when America needs you. You'll be a part of this and if military service is something you are seriously considering you will never have to question yourself if you took the easy path or the more difficult one. Once you're a Marine always a Marine and you'll have earned it. Semper Fi. |

Marines no doubt about it. Then after that maybe you can train for special forces if you really want to get in to the fight? |

Go for the Marines. You are the first of many, who have asked
this question, without asking for the "easiest" route. ***===== |

As far as major offensives go, the marines are the first in. But usually, special forces and rangers are dropped in previous to that. I would think that the Marines had a tougher boot camp than the Army, but they are all tough, mentally and physically (where i'm giving the marines the edge.) Instead of who's the first to get shot at you should consider thinking about what it is you want to do in the service and what you want to do when you leave. |

Marines, it is the longest and most grueling boot camp packed along with survival missions. |

Ah, ha ha, you're funny with the first to fight thing.
Controversial question.
Any Marine will say theyre the hardest, and anyone in the Army is gonna say they are.
I'm in the Army, but I say Marines.
It also depends on the job you are looking into. Example, if you just wanna be a basic infantryman, Marines is harder. But if you wanna look into SpecForces, the Army is the main Special Forces contributor in wartime., therefor, they will be harder. |

National Guard actually goes first. You should join the one you are more interested in. Do your research and then go after the one which sparks your interest more. |

Marines is the longest... it takes longer to earn the right to be called Marine and not everyone has what it takes to become a Marine - they usually go into the Army.
The National Guard must be mobilized - the Marines have the MEU's that respond to crisis much quicker. |

Marines are no doubt the toughest biggest badasses out there and if your going to join go big or go home right |

Marines, in fact, if you have went through Marine boot camp, you don't have to go through Army boot camp if you switch services. But if you switch from Army to the Marines, you have to go through Marine boot camp. |

If you join the Marines you will def go to iraq right away. but its only for like 6-7 or whatever months. the army is a year.
GOOD LUCK

From your username it already looks like you made up your mind.
Edit: truth be told the marines have the toughest training required to join, but the army's Green Berets are the military elite. Don't question it. |

Marines would have the harder boot camp, but I mean that's common knowledge here after years of posts, but as for the first to fight, well I have history on my side to disagree.
It's been equal on some fronts like WW1 (we did participate in almost every Pacific campaign except Tawara and Iwo Jima in WW2), but when a oh say North Africa (1942), Sicily, Anzio, Normandy, Southern France, Holland, Rhine River, Grenada, Panama, Desert Shield (August 1990), Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan 2001 invasion kicks off there are some Army forces who can be on the ground in less than 18 hours and we don't have the p.r. campaign cheerleaders here to recognize it.
But it's all good we are more than looks...deeds not words. |

Marine Corp boot camp is the hardest military boot camp in the country. the drill instructors will push you to your absolute limits and beyond. this is all in order to achieve your true potential. you said you wanted to be the best and the marine corps will get you there. i wish you the best of luck. Marines have the longest and toughest boot camp of any service. MAGTF is the principle that the USMC operates on, which consist of MEU, MEB and MEF. Each unit has 4 basic elements that are needed to respond quickly to any situation and accomplish multiple missions. Even though the Army has units that can respond just as fast, they don't have all the elements that the USMC has. So in a way, the first to fight still stands more on the USMC side despite over the yrs that the gap between them and the Army is getting smaller in terms of who enters the fight first. |

Both are about the same in terms of intensity, but if I had to pick one, I would say Marines.
Marines are not necessarily the first to fight. The Marines are basically the service for the President of the United States, so he can send the Marines without the consent of Congress in the beginning.
If you want to go to war, I would recommend becoming an elite fighter for Navy Seals. They are always going on missions behind the scenes. |

navy seals are the hardes trainning you can find but yea marines are the hard most likely they do ops |
