Which is better Navy or Army?

I'm planning on enlisting soon, I can't decide which branch though, I wanna do something in the medical or aviation field, and I'm stuck between the Army and the Navy, from personal expierance which is better?

air force or navy, never army

I was in the Army and we were not treated that well. Honestly I would join the Air Force or Navy if I had known the huge difference in treatment.

Navy, get all the cool toys.

In seven years of Naval medical service only 3 weeks aboard ship. I've spent more time with marines and abroad and had the best time doing it.

I can't speak much for the army but they offered me 26k to convert. Maybe saying something of our high speed training.

good luck

if you want a bunk and water and a hot shower and food most the time, then go navy ! if you like to eat crap and lay in the mud and sand and eat fleas then go army . i dont like to swim and scared of sharks so me i did take my chances on the land. But all our services are good and plus out in the field you dont get good TV> LOL

Moderation in almost all things2
The Navy.
For aviation no service is better, or more highly trained. Landing on a carrier - you know your a top pilot - compared to anyone.
For medical education I would also pick the Navy - of course the Army would be bullet and mortar wounds - while Navy would be drunken sailors and VD shots.

About any of this you will need a university degree first. Engineering degree for aviation and basic medical degree for either services medical program.

To actually reach your goal. Being enlisted would be a long long road. You have to be a 2nd or 1st class petty officer before the Warrant Officer program opens up, and that's sea time and fabulous evaluations - and civilian education on top of your military education.
I do not know about the Army time before getting what you want. The Navy has a sea - shore rotation policy.

The Navy will have you take a test before joining to see what education/skills you already have. IF you score high for medical - then the Navy will possibly authorize their 'A' school, and IF your a top student - there will be the chance for another school or better placement. Aviation is strictly Officer country and I have no knowledge of an officers life.
Other than watching hollywoods "An Officer and a Gentleman". I would talk to pilots.

Check with the recruiters and see what both really say.

Apple is dead on here gents.
The Army is only if you WANT to be a failure in life.
If you're going to go green, you may as well do it right and go USMC.
Otherwise, blue is always better.

Either is good for medical.
I would choose Navy for aviation between the 2.

Officer promotions work different then enlisted, so the promotion times are pretty close.

Benefits are the same.

Navy has shorter deployments.

Personally, i would go Army.

in the navy, you could get stuck on a ship for 6 months.

and i am not really into that.

but in the army.

you could be a medic, or an aviation mechanic.

also, the army has a Warrant Officer program, which allows those with and without degrees to become aviators.

only branch that does that is the army.

for medical air force as #1 choice followed by army
