Which ones are the toughest: the Marines or the Navy seals?

this is coming from a person who is currently serving in the marines. i worked with the seals for a bit, they are hard. we have some marines that make the whole marine corps look real bad. but when it comes down to fight. we go all out. but to answer your question. the seals are slightly above.

Seals are tougher then regular Marines, but Recon Marines are a lot tougher the Seals.

Their training is designed for totally different missions. I'd say that in each case they are the best trained for the type of missions they were created for.
Consider the Seals like a sharp scalpel for sensitive precision cuts. The Marines are the chain saw for bringing down a tree. Both are effective cutting instruments for the type of job they were made for.

Marine Recon and Navy Seals are probably on par, although I wouldn't recommend saying that in the presence of either.

the navy seals training is tougher then the regular marine training because its a specialized and elite division so its not really fair to compare the two because the regular training for the navy is no where near as tough as the marines

The navy seals by far are the toughest. They have to be able to be quieter, faster, stronger, and smarter so they are better overall.

The Marines are far more tough...However the Marines are a department of the Navy..So one could conclude that since they are one in the same that they are both tough but the seals are just smarter..

Ok, most of the navy seals(80%) is made up of marines. so when you think who is tougher remember this. Also, seals is a special forces unit, like force recon is.Seals are more water based and Recon is more land based, but Recon can actually do a lot more cooler stuff. Recon all the way. oooorah. From what I'm told, Marine Recon is by far the toughest - goes beyond Navy Seals training. My brother is a recon. His best friend is a seal - makes interesting conversation! However, his best friend finally admitted that recon training is by far the most intense and demanding. But for me and from what I'm always hearing from both of them, they both went through the most amazing training and experiences - different for both, but also demanding for both. And they are both extrememly intelligent. And can kill a man with one hand, one strike.

Navy SEALS are special trained people. In the navy you have to go through boot camp and then train for SEALS. If you are talking about just infantry Marines, then SEALS lead the way. If you are talking about Marine recon then they are pretty similar. Recon and SEALS are both specialties that not everyone can do. Marines are trained for fighting and infantry type jobs. SEALS are trained in weaponry, languages, mixed martial arts, survival, and so much more.
