Air Force all the way. Look at what positions are available when you enlist and make sure you don't go in a open career field. Pick your own and have it locked. If you want some good training maybe go into the medical field. Do your time and get your training then get out and make some cash. It is really hard to make the military a career anymore! You can still do it but you have to be 100% dedicated and willing to put up with the BS that comes along with the military. I love the military but have done my time and gained a lot of experience. Civilians jobs love to recruit prior military for job positions. Good luck |

The Air Force is for smart guys who don't want to go to war on land, the Army will send you into battle if the occasion rises, and the Marines are for lunatic men that want to be turned into warriors. You'll get the same benefits from any branch, it just depends on what you want to do during your military career.
My husband was in the Air Force, my bro-in-law was in the Army, and my dad was in the Marines. My dad is the most psycho out of them so I never recommend the Marines but I do respect them the most. |

If the Air Force is your first instinct and you end up picking another, there will always be that "what if" hanging on in the back of your mind.
I didn't pick the Army because the recruiter got on my nerves. If you think you would like to be in the forefront of the action, pick Army.
I was in the Navy for nearly 16 years and loved it, but I wanted to see the world. If you want to do that, you may see some of the world in the Army and Air Force, but you will see more in the Navy. You have to be willing to limit the amount of things that you keep with you and willing to live in very small spaces. This branch has the best schooling, though.
My brother was in the Air Force for 4 years. He was stationed in Germany and New Mexico. He really liked it but couldn't handle being away from my parents, I guess because he was the baby. It was somewhat lax but had good schooling.
Pray about it because it is a big and important decision. I wish you luck with whatever you pick. |

I was in the Air Fore myself. My husband is in the Air Force. I am partial to the Air Force, but I also looked at the other branches. Ultimately, it is up to you on which branch you choose. One thing is for sure though. BEFORE you sign any papers, make sure you have a guaranteed job in what you want to do. Do NOT go in open anything. I was lucky. I ended up going in Open General, and I didn't know what I was going to be doing. Thankfully, my scores were high enough, and they needed someone in Intelligence. But you could end up doing something you really do not want to do then you will not be happy.
Good Luck and I hope you enjoy the military as much as I did (and still do) |

The Air Force generally has higher standards of living as far as living quarters, pay, and the like, not to mention that they have shorter training, see less time in combat... and those who are sent to combat areas are there for very, very short amounts of time (although they'll always tell you otherwise). The Army is harder, has higher PT and training standards and is quite a bit more combat-oriented (the Marines, same, but harder on all those points). You're most likely to see combat or be sent to a combat area in the Army or the Marines, although quite a few people in either service never see any action, either; you're just more likely to than you would in the Navy or Air Force. The Air Force is almost always the butt of every military-related joke and is regarded as the Country Club of the military, or as the Civilian Armed Forces, or basically where people who are too scared to join any of the others go. That's not entirely true, of course, but more true than the Air Force would admit to. You would definitely have the least push from your comfortable civilian mindset with them than with the other three; the Marines, of course, would be the most distant from the cushy civilian mindset. You'll find good training and job opportunities with any of the four, though, as well as travel--you'll find better travel/overseas stationing opportunities with the Navy, Army, and Air Force than with the Marines, though. In the end, though, you should choose the one that will help you the most along whatever career path you would like to take in life, or at least in the area that you'd like to have job experience in; any branch of the military and the experience they provide looks very, very good on a resume. Hope this helps... :) |

It depends on what you want out of this experience. Do you want to travel the world without being shot at then I would say the navy is best. If you want training in some future civilian job than the chances are any service will do. If your concerned about boot camp the air force and navy boots are the same. the army and marines will test you to the max. On behalf of the navy we're really short of cute redheads. |

You need to think about what it is you want to do. Each service has its own pros and cons. Talk to recruiters..but keep in mind they will tell you what you want to hear, so take the info they give you, and look it over carefully.
Personally Ive been a Marine for 14 years, and I'm not a psycho. I don't get pleasure form killing people. I have however worked very hard, earned my bachelors degree, and am now proud to be a 1st. LT.
Joining the military is a HUGE commitment. Take your time....really. Every person that answers is going to tell you one branch is better than the other. They are ALL the best, they are , after all American forces! You will just find that some branches earn a little more respect.People from one service like to call people from the other "animals" and "killers". Then it goes the other way.."wimps" and "spoiled".Each has something to offer you. But in the end, its your decision alone. Good luck! |

the air force or the navy. they both require more education for most fields. find out what you wualify for and then find which branch can best suit your needs. the air force is really hard to get into especially for a woman |

Here's the thing: Yes, the Air Force and Navy won't be on the front lines, and the Marines seem so cool. However, this big problem with these three services is that you don't get to pick a job, you pick a FIELD. From there, you are put into the needs of the service, so it is not even guaranteed that you will get to do what you want. As for the Army, you actually pick the job you want and will get it AS LONG AS you pass the school. That is one thing that gets people when they join, the job that actually want they can't get. Also, the wait time for boot camp for the other services are months longer than the Army. As for that, the services all offer the same benefits. What people don't know though, is that you CAN fly in the Army, not just the other branches. And, it is a bit easier to get in the Army, as the Air Force is actually kicking people out cause they have too many people, and I think the Navy is doing the same. As for promotions, Air Force is the hardest, followed by the Marines; Army has the easiest and quickest promotion ladder. Our neighbors are Air Force and has been in the service for the same time as my husband and they are 1-2 pay grade behind him. Hope that helps some. Good Luck! |

It depends on what you want, and what specialties you would pursue. IIRC, the US Air Force has the lowest physical requirements and their basic training is the shortest. Beyond all that, I would surmise that all services are similar for women (no direct combat for women). |
