wondered who's the dog in the military. who's #1 in all the branchs?
most trained? i'm doing a report and would like to do it on whoever has to go through a lot in the military and what they do?

The President
Short of that, it would be the civilian heads of each department (Secretary of the Army, Navy, etc)
The top military person in each branch has a title specific to that branch, for instance, the 4-Star General in charge of the Marines is called the Commandant of the Marine Corps, not sure what the other branches call theirs, but it's a 5-star General or Admiral for each. |

There is no 'best branch'. They are all equal and best suited for their particular areas of expertise. That is why we use Combined Arms. |

The most senior ranking person who is actually in the military is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen. He currently the highest ranking officer, who presides over the Joint Chiefs. The Joint Chiefs are the highest ranking members of each service like the Commandant of the Marine Corps, the Chief of Naval Operations, the Chief of Staff of the Army etc. All these men are responsible for advising the Commander in Chief on all military matters, and developing joint strategies for improving national defense. |

I think what your asking is who is the most 'hardcore'?
There are, special forces such as para-rescue, navy seals, combat controllers, security forces(usaf), SERE specialists, etc. . . but overall the marines go through the most 'hardcore' initial training to be accepted into the marine corps. |
