Who actually cares about our troops?

Who actually cares about our troops?

Okay, i am just wondering. You see i am an Army brat, my dad has been in since he was 18. Where i used to live people would tell me that the Army and all of the military for that matter was stupid, and there was no point in having it. While they were saying this my dad was in Iraq. He came home, and we moved on base, to get out of that place because it was tearing me up. Now he is set to deploy again in July of 2010. I am just curious to know who cares about our troops. If you are going to be rude about it please do not answer, because i cant handle hearing one more thing against the Military.

It has been my experience that there are way more people in this country (America) who care about the troops than there are people who dont support them. Unfortuatly the people who hate the troops receive the most attention because it is more intresting and controversial.
I dont know where you lived that people were so negative about the same people who are risking their lives and dying for their protection but I am sorry you had to live there.
You just have to chalk it up to the fact that some people are just ignorant. A lot of people will tell, you that they dont like the Police, but the Police are still the first people they call when some one breaks into their house. You just have to continue being better than they are and do the right thing.

Our troops are the most loved people on earth! Tell your Dad I love him. If you don't want to hear negative things, stay off Y/A. God bless.

i care. im a navy brat and i think that it the way ppl treat the troops that risk their lives is absolutely disgusting and disappoints me as an American.

Trust me, there are many, many of us who love our troops, respect them, and thank them whole-heartedly for what they do.

Hopefully you'll understand that people like me are not as outspoken as the liberal military haters. They can be ugly. But please remember that many of us are very grateful for you and your dad, and your sacrifices.

Tell your dad thanks for me.

My dad has been in the Military since he was 18 also. I understand how you feel. My dad is so loyal and stuff for our country and i've known that whole patriotism thing ever since i was little. I care about our troops and people shouldn't be against the Military. They're risking their lives and everything, and the only thing people can do is make rude remarks and complain about them.

Anyone and Everyone that has someone serving in any Service cares, along with several others.
Those that dislike the military are uniformed, and furthermore are just parroting what they have heard either in there own home or on the TV.
When it is convenient the general public supports the troops, but at times only in voice not in actions. When 911 happened, we where on recruiting duty, everyone wanted us to get who had done it but not "my son". Also when national disasters happen many branches provide support, but it is rarely reported on.
All in all its perception, those of us with direct links to any service can see it daily, but it takes a major event for the general public to become informed. The news reports daily on deaths, but hardly ever on any positives that have been completed.

I do, my friend. Those of us here in Tennessee who participated in the Freedom Celebration do and all the Tennesseans for Liberty as well. We sent over a ton of care packages to the troops and raised almost 7 thousand dollars. God Bless your dad and I want to personally thank your family for supporting him in the fight for freedom.

i care not just about my hubby that is in,every soldier out there who are risking their lives!!!!

The people who say those things are idiots, plain & simple.. They don't deserve to even dust the sand of your dad's boots.. Be proud of your dad & be proud of the fact that u love & support him... As for those other people, I pity them for their ignorance.. Don't allow them to upset u & bring u down ok..

I care about our troops, I respect them, their courage, their commitment, the sacrifices they make.. without them, we are nothing..

Tell your dad THANK YOU !!!

Paradox
I do, and it's not a partisan issue (in fact, that impression is only recent).

sikotic88
I care very much about our troops in ALL branches of the military.
I have currently and previously had family members in every branch except the Coast Guard, and at the present time, my Nephew and his wife are serving a second deployment in Afghanistan.
I speak for a lot of people I'm sure when I say that even if you don't agree about the wars going on, you have to support our troops, family or not, because all those who have fallen before and those that fight now, have done so to give the fools that don't support them, the right, freedom, and safety to speak their minds.

blah blah blah
I love them!!!!!! They are the some of the smartest, bravest people on the planet, and they and their families certainly sacrifice alot for our freedom.

I tell you i didn't care up until i was 15 years old. I moved to a new school where they had veterens and active duty military guys come and speak to us. That first time there really opened my eyes. So after that i tried for about 6 years to join any military branch but due to health problems i kept getting turned down. I LOVE the military and their families! Now just think my boyfriend is a Marine. I am grateful that i moved to that new school and was there to hear all those guys stories. It really meant a lot and totally changed the way i viewed the military. Thank your dad for serving.

§i came i saw i conquered §
I feel sorry for them but i just don't ahve time to send them things

You have to remember that the internet is international, not American so in many cases "our troops" aren't involved. I think that most people care about the troops, just not about US foreign policy. They are waiting to see what happens with Bush gone and Obama in charge. I think that it might be a long wait.

?
Remember Harry Reid and "This War is Lost"
No politician cares about them , they seem them as cannon fodder to soft soap and as people , no less than people who they need votes from
Look at eh GI bill and see all one has to do to take part in it . It is now set to get people out of the service not to retain them.
Having served in the Navy and being told by former friends i was stupid to go in the service or to serve my country .. Well I have lost respect for many fellow citizens who will feed on the fruit of others labor but not stand up to protect it.
We should have the best equipment, the latest protection and the best intelligence in the world but politicians put their career ahead of everything else. Cuts in defense spending so they can give baby-bonds or some other such things to buy votes.

"Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear."
-Harry S Truman

Patriotic Republican Americans care about our troops.

Terribly misinformed voters, desperate for a quick Change, regardless of the consequences, voted for Barack Hussein Obama, with reckless disregard for the pain and suffering of those who fought and died to make this great nation a free nation.

Freedom isn't Free, a lot of people in over 200 years have fought and died for that Freedom to have it recklessly voted away in an election by uniformed voters.

The support and election of Barack Hussein Obama desecrates the graves of those Americans who fought and died for that Freedom.

Barack Hussein Obama shares a dream with the world's dictators for a Post American World.

Comrade Barack Hussein Obama said in his book 'Audacity of Hope', “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction what better place for the Muslins to control our country, than in the office of the President of USA.â€

A person can’t truly love America and Obama too, for to truly love one is to truly hate the other.

May God protect the American People and the Free World from the Democrat Party and Barack Hussein Obama.

May God enlighten Barack Hussein Obama’s misguided followers and let the see the real evil truth about Barack Hussein Obama.

To be honest, I don't care that much. I think I would care more if I knew someone who was over seas, but I don't. Therefore, I don't really mind. That may be offensive to some but, it's not my life, you know?
