There have been many proud members of our military who have served this country with pride and distinction. I would have to say that no, a Marine and his rifle are not the best weapon. I would say the best weapon is the spirt that our brothers in arms share with us. It is the will and determination that our servicemen and women bring to their duties. To me the greatest heroes, are not those who serve in retirement, but those who cannot be here with us today because they have made the ultimate sacrifice.

For what that weapon was created for yes I agree. But he'd be toast without air superiority in most fights. Impossible to say what's the best weapon in the world. If you've been in the military it'd be obvious that they all complement each other. But I'll welcome a marine on my side in a bar fight any day.

Certainly doesn't seem that way. Those Iraqis with their IEDS, their suicide packs and their AK-47s are pretty mean and seem to have no trouble at all taking out Marines with M-16s.

I would say there are many British regiments with N.Ireland experience who would kick the *** of any Marine (the paras definitely). Indeed there are probably some members of N. Ireland terror organisations who would do so too. Maybe the IRA sniper from South Armagh who made the area a no go area for British Soldiers thanks to a Barrett Light 50.

They only have one flaw they are usually following orders unless you are talking about a marine corps special ops that is allowed any means necessary to complete a mission.

That weapon is useless though because the Marine and his rifle are controlled by the US Government, so he's given up his rights for freedom and civil liberties. He doesn't even know what they are because he's been brainwashed.
